Chapter 260: Money And Going Back Home
"I see..." Evangeline muttered with a frown on her face. "So he's back to torment you and your family again... that's definitely not fun."
Neraxis sighed. "No, it isn't. And I can't say I'm prepared for him, but in the next month or so, I need to get as strong as I can... Also, I've been thinking... I'm going to try to expel the Eternal Sin by the end of the week."
Evangeline tilted her head. "Why? You have a bit of time, so no need to waste the opportunity like this."
He gently grasped her hand. "Evangeline, what if something happens to the baby?"
Her brows twitched. "I can see what you mean, but do you seriously think the Eternal Sin is located in your balls?"
Before he could answer, Evangeline continued. "I can control everything that enters my body. Mana, your little Neraxis's, and much more. He is a very strong being, but as a vampire, I have complete and total control over my body."
"Then take it as a test, I guess," Neraxis said. "If I can't get rid of the Eternal Sin when he's at 4% power, then how am I supposed to kill the Sovereigns? Heck, I haven't even finished my revenge from last time. I'm too far behind, Evangeline."
"Well... I'll talk to Delta about it, we'll try our best to help... I'll also talk to the other girls about this. Even if they're not the strongest in the world, their talents could come in handy," Evangeline replied, then pointed to the two bawling sisters. "As for them, you should deal with this."
"Roger..." Neraxis sighed, approaching Lana and Rara. "Rara, how do you feel?"
Rara slowed her crying and turned to him. "You're the guy I saw in my dream?"
"That I am," Neraxis replied with a smile. "You might be a little confused, but I'm sure Lana would be more than glad to explain what has happened."
"I already did," Lana added. "She's like a combination of my little sister and her older warrior self... it feels a bit off when your little sister is older than you."
"I'm not that much older." Rara pouted. "I'm only 34. You make it sound as though I'm old or something."
"Rara..." Lana trailed off, putting a hand on Rara's shoulder. "You're old."
"..." Rara stared at her sister for a moment before tears began streaming down again. "Waaah! I don't want to be old!"
Lana let out an exhausted sigh as she proceeded to comfort her sister, and also flashed a glance toward Neraxis.
"As you can see, she's a mix of both. She's probably going through puberty and a midlife crisis at the same time."
"That's tough..." Neraxis said with clear pity in his voice. "Also, I'll do the same thing I did to Rara."
With those words, he walked up to Lana and tapped her on the forehead.
Immediately, the tiny connection with the universe she had was severed.
But she merely stared at him with a confused look. "You tapped her on the head?"
"Yep," Neraxis replied with a smile. "I'm sure you don't want me interrupting your reunion any more than I already have, so I'll take my leave."
And just as he was about to head out of the room alongside Evangeline, Lana stopped them.
"W-Wait a second... I know it might be too much to ask... but could you lend me some money?"
"Being one of the top rankers in the world doesn't give you any perks?" Neraxis asked, puzzled.
Lana shook her head. "We're only rankers in name, and the government only spends money on us when they want us to appear in public. Since I usually wear a suit, no one is interested in me."
"True." Evangeline nodded. "You look like a teenage boy, no one's really interested in that. But if you were to showcase your current figure, I'm sure you'd get a lot of funding."
"Never," Lana replied sternly. "I didn't want them to find out about my sister."
"I'm sure they already know about you, since they already have all the information on me," Neraxis said matter-of-factly. "But yeah, I don't mind giving you money. Just think of it as a signing bonus for both you and your sister."
With that, Neraxis grabbed her phone for a moment, sent her a couple million, and saved his name as a contact.
"You can message me whenever you'd like. If it's an emergency, call me."
"Okay, thank you," Lana replied with a smile. "And don't worry, I repay my debts. After Rara's condition stabilizes, we'll come and visit."
"Sure." Neraxis nodded with a wave. "See you then."
The two soon left, and for a moment, Neraxis sort of wanted to resume his date.
However, his phone soon rang, and as he checked it, he froze.
<Mom: You didn't tell me you had guests over.>
"Evangeline..." Neraxis muttered. "Looks like Seraphina and Amaterasu were found."
"Don't teleport me, we're running back," Evangeline stated, and immediately, the two shot through the hospital, out of the windows, and practically glided through the sky.
And within a minute, they finally arrived back at his house.
Elara was already waiting for him by the door with a frown on her face.
"Neraxis, you seem to have forgotten a few girls in your bedroom?" Elara asked, crossing her hands.
"My bad, I forgot," Neraxis shrugged, dodging the incoming bonk from Elara.
"You're just shameless..." Elara remarked with a sigh, and went inside.
He and Evangeline followed suit and went upstairs.
His door was swung open, and to his surprise, he could see his mother playing a game with Amaterasu on the console.
"N-No! Wait! If you step on that pressure plate—"
—BOOOM
"Oh dear..." Sophia muttered, putting away the controller. "Who knew the deserts were so deadly? Oh, Neraxis, welcome back."
"I'm glad you're enjoying yourselves," Neraxis remarked.
"Yeah..." Seraphina muttered, scratching her cheek. "This idiot here woke up and the first thing she did was plug in her console. Who knew the audio would be connected to the downstairs speakers?"
What do you think?
