The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

Chapter 172 172: A tsundere wife.

It was officially the last day of the national holiday and contrary to their original plans, Alix and Caishen had spent the entire holiday with his family. The new plan was to return home on this day after visiting the Tai family.

Because his grandfather had attached a lot of importance to the visit, Caishen woke up early. He was well rested, energetic and in a sunny mood.

"Mmm, Alix." he turned his head to the woman who shared his bed and he called out.

She was deep asleep, head on his chest and one hand slung across his chest. It didn't matter how loud he called out, she wasn't moving.

He moved her hand slowly and as gently as he could. She seemed to sense what he was doing and brought it back, moving it to his waist this time round.

"Ohoo, Alix." he called her, again.

She mumbled something and tightened her hold on him. Trying to get rid of her hand this time round was even harder and she doubled the challenge by flinging one of her legs across his.

Staring at the ceiling, Caishen practiced his breathing exercises to compose himself. She was wearing very short night shorts, thanks to his mother's efforts to convince him to speed things up.

Her smooth exposed legs and thighs were very much a source of regular temptation to him. If he lowered his hands just a bit, he could touch them as much as he wanted. Some unwelcome thoughts intruded in his mind and he shook his head to chase them away.

If his legs worked properly, he would have escaped this bed already.

"She really has no concept of personal space." he mumbled.

He looked at her sleeping face, admired it for a few seconds and then smiled menacingly. There were other ways to force her to wake up.

He pinched her nose, and counted, one, two, three....

She gasped and opened her eyes, looking around wildly. Once she realized that it was Caishen, she slapped his hand.

"Are you crazy?" she asked him, staring daggers at him.

He just stared at her with a smile, "Are you awake?"

She poked his chest, targeting his ribs as she replied, "Of course I am awake, my husband just tried to kill me?"

"Now you are exaggerating." he responded.

She got up and threw the warm covers off her body. She couldn't help thinking that he was lucky she had not reacted in a more violent way. What if she was so startled that she broke his arm, or his jaw. He called her sister hulk so often but he had no sense of danger.

"Are you angry?" he asked her.

She turned her head, looked at him harshly and hissed like an angry snake. Then, she walked to the bathroom and slammed the door shut.

This was not the way Caishen intended for them to start the day. He thought they would laugh about it but the opposite had happened and he was now very confused. Was she really angry or was she simply teasing him?

Caishen scratched his head as he wondered what sort of exaggerated gesture he would need to make to earn her forgiveness if she was really angry. Du Fuzi would know, he thought. But, before contacting his friend, he decided to search the internet first.

One hour later, Alix and Caishen were almost at the Tai residence and he was still not forgiven. His wife was really sulking, more than he anticipated. She had even refused to look at him during the car ride.

The apology flowers he had given her were sitting between them, just like box of chocolates. It was untouched, which surprised him. She was not the type to let snacks sit idly around her. Normally, she would at least eat one or two before saving the rest for later.

He didn't want to use the strategy Du Fuzi had given him but everything else had failed.

He took a deep breath, held his legs and suddenly cried out, twisting his face as if he was in pain.

"Aah, ah!" He hissed.

As expected Alix turned to him with a worried gaze and she rushed to attend to him.

"Hubby, hubby, what's the matter? What hurts? Where does it hurt?" She asked in a raised and panicked voice.

As soon as her hands touched his chest, he grabbed them and pulled her forward. She was caught off guard and she ended up falling against his chest.

"It hurts." he whined.

She was perplexed as to why he was hugging her when he was in pain but she rubbed her hand on his back in circles. "We should go to a hospital and see a doctor. Grandpa will understand if we don't show up." she suggested.

He shook his head and mumbled something unintelligent.

"What?" she asked.

"My heart, it hurts." he repeated more clearly. "Sister hulk, if you don't forgive me I fear that it will kill me."

Her hand came to a stand still as she processed his outrageous words. He had faked the pain to get her in this position.

"Really, I will never wake you up like that again. Next time, I will do it with a kiss."

"Crazy.." she whispered and slapped his back. She was relieved that nothing was wrong with him and the pain was fake. Somehow, the relief washed her anger away.

Caishen lips curled upwards and he grinned. He could tell from her voice and the relaxation of her body as she hugged him that she had forgiven him. Still, he wanted to hear it from her mouth.

He reluctantly ended the hug but kept her close enough so that he could the question. "Am I forgiven?"

"Tch!" she responded.

He laughed. "Oh, did I marry a tsundere wife?"

"Hmph." she twisted her lips and made a high pitched sound through her nose.

Her eyes happened to catch sight of the flowers and box of swiss chocolates which she had tossed aside when she was in a hurry to get to him.

Those were the most expensive chocolates she had ever received and she had not even tested one. Now they were on the floor and she had no idea if they were still safe.

She pushed him aside with a horrified expression and picked them up. "My chocolates." she whined.

He looked at himself and then the box of chocolates which she was holding as if it was a precious treasure. It was illogical to be resentful of something that would soon be inside her stomach but in that moment, Caishen was irrationally jealous.

She barely paid him any attention as she picked up the flowers and then opened the box to count how many chocolates had been injured.

She actually mumbled it out loud, "How many of you are injured?"

It was not a living thing, how could it be injured? he thought. "Should I resurrect the me or chocolate question?" he asked himself.

She looked up with a silly smile on her face.

"It's okay, only one is injured." she told him, as if he was truly interested or invested in the injuries.

Then, to his greatest amusement, she did something that made him laugh. She picked up the injured chocolate which was in the shape of a ball and sent it to to her mouth.

In stitches, he said to her, "Tsk, tsk, what a good doctor you are."

"It's the only possible treatment for this patient." She answered.

They both laughed, and the rest of the car ride was filled with even more laughter.
