Chapter 527 499
"After you go back, leave immediately, don't get anywhere near Shi Tian, and don't become a lackey for anyone else ever again. Otherwise, you're bound to meet a bad end someday. This is my advice to you," Lin Tian said with a deep, meaningful tone.
Huang Mao was the kind of person who forgot his morals at the sight of profit. During Shi Tian's heyday, he followed him rigorously. However, when Shi Tian faced difficulties, Huang Mao's first thought was how to protect himself.
Such a person was more suited to be a businessman, swaying with the wind and trafficking in profit. Becoming someone's lackey could be deadly if the boss ever found out he was self-serving, as he would likely kill him sooner or later.
After hearing this, Huang Mao nodded, seeming to agree with Lin Tian's words.
Shi Tian was tied up tightly, his body bound with belts, the marks indenting his flesh. His own men seemed to hold resentments against him, or else why would they be so harsh?
Lin Tian walked up to Shi Tian with a smile, caressing his fingers, and said, "I'll break your fingers, and don't you scream. If you do, I'll break more."
He Dong couldn't help but laugh out loud. This was exactly what Shi Tian had just said, and Lin Tian was teaching him a lesson once again.
Treat others as they treat others.
"Please... let me go. It's too bloody. If your in-laws see this, it won't look good. They'll think you delight in bloodshed." Shi Tian pleaded tearfully; he had been beaten so badly he had lost teeth, and the pain of having his fingers broken without anesthesia was unbearable. He prided himself on not having the guts of some tough guy.
"Oh, alright," Lin Tian said as if he had just realized something and let go of Shi Tian.
Thinking Lin Tian had let him off, Shi Tian quickly cried, "Thank you, Grandpa, thank you."
Lin Tian ran over to He Qianqian and said, "What comes next will be too bloody. You guys should head back now. Oh, and it's best to also shut the doors and windows and block your ears."
He Qianqian, understanding what Lin Tian was about to do, quickly took her parents back inside and secured the doors and windows.
He Dong didn't understand He Qianqian's intentions and thought Lin Tian had some secret matter; he also headed inside.
"You, come back," Lin Tian called to He Dong.
Lin Tian was actually looking to train He Dong; how could he let him leave?
Shi Tian was still continuously thanking Lin Tian and even calling him 'grandpa.'
Lin Tian shouted, "Stop thanking me; I had no intention of letting you go. Calling me 'grandpa' makes me feel quite guilty."
Shi Tian was dumbstruck, staring at Lin Tian as if to say, hadn't you already let me go?
Lin Tian grabbed Shi Tian's finger, smiling as he said, "Don't shout, okay? If you do, I'll have to break another one. It hurts you a lot, and I find it bothersome."
Shi Tian opened his mouth wide, thinking, you're breaking my fingers yet complain about it being bothersome. If it's bothersome, then just don't break them.
Clearly, Lin Tian had no intention of letting him go.
"I'll count to five, then I'll start breaking. Just bear with it; it's best we do this all in one go, okay?" Lin Tian held his finger as he spoke.
Shi Tian seemed dumbfounded under these conditions. Nonetheless, he nodded and said, "Okay."
"One."
Shi Tian closed his eyes, clenching his teeth.
"Two."
Shi Tian tightened his fists.
"Three."
With a "snap," Lin Tian exerted force and broke one of Shi Tian's fingers.
"Ah... fuck, it hurts! Didn't you say you'd count to five? That was only three; you're screwing with me," Shi Tian screamed, almost convulsing.
"Oh, sorry, sorry, I forgot," Lin Tian quickly apologized.
"Hahaha...!" He Dong laughed joyously from the side.
Lin Tian told He Dong, "My brain's not working well today. You do it."
"What? Me break his fingers?" He Dong pointed to himself, asking.
"Yeah, you do it. A real man can handle a bit of bloodshed."
He Dong swallowed hard, squatted next to Shi Tian, and grasped another of his fingers.
"One, two, three, break," Lin Tian directed from the side.
By the count of three, Shi Tian had closed his eyes, already braced for another broken finger, clenching his teeth against the pain.
But since it was He Dong's first time breaking someone's fingers, he was a bit scared and failed to break it the first time.
Shi Tian clenched his teeth hard, assuming the ordeal was over with no pain; he opened his eyes.
With a "snap," He Dong exerted more force this time and finally broke Shi Tian's finger.
"It hurts...! You're not following the script," Shi Tian shouted.
Lin Tian ignored Shi Tian and asked He Dong, "How does it feel?"
"Kind of fun, like snapping a huge radish," He Dong said with a grin, gripping Shi Tian's third finger.
Now, Shi Tian was cursing up a storm—breaking my fingers for fun, try breaking your own and see how fun that is.
"If it's fun, break a few more," Lin Tian said.
"Okay," He Dong nodded and then broke another of Shi Tian's fingers.
Shi Tian yelled again.
"Crack."
"Crack."
"Crack."
He Dong got addicted to breaking fingers, snapping three of Shi Tian's fingers in a row. Shi Tian bore the pain of the second finger without making a sound, which He Dong seemed to forget and then broke another one of his fingers.
"Damn it, I didn't make a sound, and you still ****ing broke my finger," Shi Tian roared angrily.
He Dong also realized he had made a mistake and looked at Lin Tian.
Lin Tian said, "It's fine, why bother talking about morals with someone like this, as long as you're happy."
"Crack, crack...!"
"It hurts...!"
He Dong quickly broke all of Shi Tian's fingers. Shi Tian fell to the ground, really not yelling anymore, as if breaking his fingers was an ordinary thing.
Fingers connected to the heart, Lin Tian watched Shi Tian, feeling the pain for him.
"Throw him out." Looking at him made me sick, Lin Tian said.
He Dong obediently threw Shi Tian onto the pathway.
He Wenqing and the others came out, and He Wenqing said tremblingly, "Shi Tian has been handled like this; he won't come back for revenge, will he?"
Xu Liping also stared at Lin Tian, seemingly hoping for a definite answer from him.
Lin Tian shook his head and said, "Shi Tian is the type to bear grudges. What happened today will not only fail to deter him but will also fuel his anger. In the future, he will almost crazily seek revenge on you all."
He Qianqian was shocked upon hearing this and said, "Then... what should we do?"
"Maybe we should move, leave everything here, find a new place; I still have the strength, we won't starve," He Wenqing suggested.
"No need," Lin Tian said, "Don't worry, I will completely take care of Shi Tian before I leave. As long as I'm here, Shi Tian won't stir up trouble."
They clearly saw Lin Tian's strength; he had subdued thirty-odd people with just a few chopsticks. If Lin Tian was determined to handle this, He Wenqing felt reassured.
He Wenqing immediately came forward, grasped Lin Tian's hand, and thanked him, "Son-in-law, I'm counting on you for this; you must handle Shi Tian properly, or else our whole family will be doomed."
Lin Tian and He Qianqian were stunned, while He Dong and Xu Liping showed no reaction.
Lin Tian clearly heard He Wenqing call him son-in-law. Was this a hint? Was he eager?
He nodded happily, held He Wenqing's hand, and said, "Father-in-law, don't worry. If I don't handle Shi Tian, I don't deserve to be a son-in-law of the He family."
"Good, I trust you, it's all on you," He Wenqing tightly clenched Lin Tian's hand and then went inside the house with Xu Liping and He Dong.
Only He Qianqian and Lin Tian were left outside. Lin Tian said, "Big wife, your dad just called me son-in-law!"
Her father had agreed, and He Qianqian was overjoyed, but like many women who say one thing but mean another, she said, "That was a slip of the tongue by my dad."
"But I also called your dad 'father-in-law'!"
"I'm not talking to you anymore." He Qianqian ran smiling into the house.
Five people sat together and chatted for a while, then a girl's voice came from outside.
"Qianqian, is that you who's back?"
He Qianqian hurried outside and saw a girl about twenty years old, quite beautiful but not as much as He Qianqian. On closer look, the two women looked somewhat similar.
"Jingjing." He Qianqian cried out happily and ran over to hug the girl.
The girl was named He Jing, He Qianqian's cousin, twenty-two years old.
"Jingjing, aren't you teaching? Today isn't even a weekend; how come you had time to come back?" He Qianqian asked.
"I heard you were back, and also that you brought a boyfriend. I took leave to come over and see, mostly to see what kind of man caught the eye of He family's great beauty," He Jing said teasingly, indicating a close and teasing relationship between the two.
"Keep it down, he's right over there!" He Qianqian pinched He Jing lightly and said.
He Jing saw Lin Tian and, like He Wenqing, scrutinized him from head to toe.
Lin Tian felt like a monkey in a zoo. Was it a tradition for the new son-in-law to be thoroughly inspected upon his visit?
He Jing extended her hand and said politely, "Hello, my name is He Jing, Qianqian's cousin."
"Hello, I'm Lin Tian," Lin Tian replied cordially.
"Come inside, sit down!" He Qianqian called out.
Lin Tian walked towards the house, while He Jing deliberately lagged behind and whispered to He Qianqian, "He looks quite young, younger than me, right?"
"Twenty years old, women three years older, that's holding a gold brick!" He Qianqian joked.
"Oh." He Jing showed a knowing look and said, "Big sister Qianqian, so you like this type, I get it! When we were in school so many guys chased you, and you said no to them all. They all lost because of their age; you like them young, like little brothers. That's a condition, called, what's it called, right, a brother complex."
He Qianqian blushed, pinched He Jing, and whispered fiercely, "What are you talking about, a brother complex? I like him, not his age. You must be crazy about men, thinking all those dirty thoughts all day long."
What do you think?
