Transferred to Another World and Became a Teacher

Chapter 119 - Trouble the Day Before the School Festival

“It’s a disaster!!!”

The moment I appeared in the academy building, Glenn’s scream echoed through the hallway. Wondering what was going on, I looked down the corridor and saw Glenn in a panic and the teachers lined up against the wall. What was strange was the teachers' condition.

The teachers stood motionless facing the blank wall, some even lay prostrate on the floor with their heads bowed. Seeing this scene, reminiscent of a battlefield strewn with corpses, I tilted my head.

“……What happened?”

When I asked, Glenn turned around sharply.

“Oh, Aoi-kun! We’re in trouble! It’s a terrible situation!”

“Glenn-gakuchou. Your vocabulary is disappearing. Please calm down.”

I told the unusually flustered Glenn to calm down. Taking a deep breath, Glenn straightened his back and stroked his beard with one hand.

“……Hmm. I seem to have made a bit of a mess.”

Glenn tried to appear calm, but his expression was gloomy. Squinting his eyes, he slowly looked down the hallway and breathed shallowly.

“Actually, the students you're teaching seem to have been practicing thunder magic in the academy courtyard for about a week. The teachers all witnessed it.”

“Was there problem with that? Did they perhaps destroy the teachers’ belongings…?”

When I asked that, not understanding what Glenn meant, I received a deep sigh in return. He groaned, holding his head with one hand, before answering.

“……The teachers have all lost confidence in their own presentations.”

As Glenn muttered this, some of the teachers groaned and held their heads. Upon closer inspection, it seemed that the teachers gathered in the corridor were ordinary teachers. Incidentally, the light streaming through windows in the corridor was flickering violently, so it’s likely that thunder magic was being used outside.

“……Incidentally, what kind of presentations were the teachers planning to do?”

When I asked, Glenn nodded lightly and opened his mouth.

“Mostly presentations based on applications of magic. Manipulating fire and water, combining two types of magic. Some are collaborations between two teachers. Normally, they are all sufficient presentations, but this time, the students’ presentation seems to be even better.”

With Glenn’s explanation, the corridor echoed with groans of despair. It was eerily unsettling, like there were vengeful spirits. Ignoring that, I replied to Glenn.

“I see. Then, if we improve each presentation, there shouldn’t be a problem.”

When I replied, Glenn blinked.

“Right now? Even for you, Aoi-kun…”

Glenn said this with a troubled expression when I made the suggestion.

“There are five teachers’ presentations. Let’s try it.”

I said this and looked at the teachers groaning in despair.

“Increasing the amount of water in a glass and creating a makeshift river? Certainly, it might be a little underwhelming.”

“Ugh.”

I honestly gave my opinion, and the teacher became despondent.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Then, let's think about the content of the presentation. A simple change would be to make a small mountain and increase the water on top of it to create a waterfall… but why don’t we add in ice and make an ice castle?”

“E-earth magic, water magic, and then a change of properties… that seems quite high-level…”

“It depends on the incantation. Let's devise the content of the incantation.”

One of them seemed to be able to finish in time for the presentation. I breathed a sigh of relief. And so, I listened to the concerns of each teacher.

“Next is… creating a fiery tornado with fire magic. That, depending on the scale, would be a very impressive presentation. Let's add a bit of wind to the incantation. Initially, deliberately suppress the intensity of the fire and create an oxygen pocket at the top of the fiery tornado.”

“Next is… earth magic; making a tall tower on the spot. This also, if you pay attention to detail, would be quite impressive. If possible, it might be interesting to use the entire plaza to create a garden and then create a giant tower at the centre of it in the end. As for the garden? Personally, I’d like to leave it there for half a day so that people can view it… oh, I’ll take care of the clean-up, so don’t worry.”

“Next is, Strass-san?”

As I was consulting on the teachers’ presentations one by one, Strass was also there. Strass looked down at me with his usual expression, not seeming troubled at all.

“Is there anything?”

When I asked, Strass tilted his head forward slightly.

“I heard that if I come here, I could get advice on my presentation from a senior teacher. I thought it would be Aoi, and I was right.”

“I was advising those who were having trouble with their presentations… oh, it’s similar. But, Strass-san, you’re not troubled, are you?”

Strass pondered, arms crossed, in response to my question.

“Personally, I thought it was fine, but I’m also interested in Aoi’s advice. Let me show it first.”

And then, for some reason, Strass haughtily told me to see his presentation.
