Chapter 321Lure [4]
Seeing the two boys approach the body, Ruby immediately took out her smartwatch.
It was only a matter of time before the principal noticed and struck the two down, so she needed to calm them down soon.
If she simply said that Ren was alive and not dead, they would, rightfully so, not trust her words, so she needed some proof.
After playing with her smartwatch for a second, Ruby sighed before putting it back in her pocket.
Shifting her gazes towards the giant pool of lava that Ren had fallen through less than a minute ago, Ruby raised her wand and pointed it at the two boys.
At the same time, Principal Serpahina broke the tense atmosphere in the vault by saying.
"I'll take it from here."
Despite having come from an intense battle where she single-handedly faced over a hundred djinns, Principal Seraphina seemed full of energy.
Though the field, where the djinn ambush was located, was an absolute mess due to the destructive and overpowered nature of Principal Seraphina's magic, there were zero casualties among the students.
Not a single student was harmed during the fight due to Seraphina's efforts.
That's why she was so full of energy.
However...if there had been a casualty, Seraphina would have been filled with a different emotion.
One similar, if not greater, than the one Raven and Zeng are feeling currently.
Reenergized, Seraphina gestured for Liam and Kevin to move out of the way as she strolled towards the motionless body.
Halting a few feet away, Seraphina confusedly stared at the body, failing to detect any mana within the figure.
Was he... already dead?
The only way for a person to possess no mana within their body is for them to be dead or for them to be like Raven, a simple civilian with no magic or combat power.
Completely oblivious to Zeng and Raven's quiet approaching steps, Principal Seraphina flicked her head to the right and immediately asked.
"Did any of you harm him?" Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire
As everyone glanced toward Alya, Lily, and Irene, who were the first to arrive at the body, Lily hesitated before glancing backward.
At that moment, Zeng and Raven suddenly stopped and raised their hands to their heads, saluting the principal.
Thankfully, the principal didn't pay too much attention to them and instead focused on Lily, not noticing the abnormal amount of mana within Zeng at that moment.
Seeing the two saluting, Lily turned back to face the principal and said.
"He got hit by one of my water spells...and body slammed, but I believe that was it. The attacks definitely weren't enough to fatally harm him."
Recalling the principal didn't know the full story, Kazuki sighed before approaching her and saying.
"He wasn't the only one."
Pausing, Kazuki pointed to the lava puddle a couple of feet away and outside the barricade before continuing.
"There was another intruder, but he got cornered by us and fell into that pool of lava a minute or two ago."
Intrigued, Seraphina gestured for Kazuki to pause and raised her hand to the ceiling.
A few moments later, the tip of her wand began to glow a bright white, blinding everyone in the room.
With her wand shining, Seraphina drew a cube in the air, like a child sketching with a pencil on a piece of paper.
"Creation Magic."
As Seraphina said those words, a steel cage resembling a prison cell instantly appeared a few feet away.
Then, without any hesitation, Seraphina pointed her wand at the figure and muttered.
"Levitation."
As her wand began to glow dark purple, Seraphina moved it towards the prison cell, dragging the unknown figure in the air behind her.
When everyone had opened their eyes again and recovered from the flashbang, the unknown figure was already locked in the prison cell that the principal had created.
While the main cast, particularly the group's magicians, looked at the prison cell in shock, Kazuki and Kaneki huddled with Principal Seraphina.
Then, leaving the main cast to their own devices, Kazuki and Kaneki began recounting the situation to the principal, making sure not to forget any details.
Seeing this, Ruby immediately ran forward and gripped the shoulders of Raven and Zeng.
Once they started going through the details...it was over.
There were supposed to be three security guards who entered the underground space with the student council president, but there are only two right now.
Yet to hear back from Ren, Ruby leaned into and urgently whispered to the two's ears.
"He's not dead...it's all part of his plan."
Raising her hand, Raven casually swatted Ruby's hand off his shoulder as if she were a bug.
As Zeng did the same, Raven angrily muttered while staring at the principal.
"And, why the hell should we believe you? Weren't you one of the ones attacking him? As far as I'm concerned...you're one of them. The ones responsible."
Nodding his head in agreement and taking another quiet step forward, Zeng continued.
"Even if he's not dead...he's severely injured. Here they are, celebrating as they've just won a world championship, while the boss is off rotting with burn marks all over his body."
Not skipping a beat, Raven added in.
"And worst of all, he's branded as an intruder and a villain? From what I've seen so far, he's just saved all your asses from whatever is lurking in that damn vault."
"Without him, this entire island would have been destroyed... a long time ago. So, why is he the bad guy? Tell me, why?"
"He risked his life and is probably in amounts of pain that we can't even imagine right now for you guys...yet here we are, calling him an evil bastard."
Raven knew it best.
Life was unfair.
Why were some people born in rich families with everyone set up for them...while he was born with no family and forced to live on the streets?
However, Raven had never opposed it before and simply accepted his circumstances as a beggar.
But...now, he wanted to do something about it.
They...no, this world didn't deserve a hero like boss.@@novelbin@@
Rubbing his hands together, Raven stared at Kaneki with a grim expression.
"It's time they learn."
What do you think?
