Chapter 709: Backplate

Although Ma Lu died twice from fatal penetrations, the Harpoon Gun was a one-time deal.

Once fired, it had to be retrieved before it could be shot again; it couldn't create a sound like raindrops hitting glass.

And the guy in the rabbit costume, his other weapon—a chainsaw—obviously couldn't make a similar noise either.

Moreover, the screams had come from the opposite direction, and ten minutes later, the guy in the rabbit costume came from a different direction.

So, it is very likely that he wasn't the one who took Ma Lu's first blood.

Thinking of this, Ma Lu gasped, what kind of hellish place was this, so dangerously fraught.

In less than twenty minutes, he had already been killed twice by different murderers; was there no law and order in this place anymore?

This reminded Ma Lu of a movie called "A Quiet Place", where making any sound would get one captured by monsters. Could it be this plane also followed similar rules?

But considering that the guy in the rabbit costume was also listening to jazz on his Walkman, Ma Lu dismissed this speculation.

So, that bastard just wanted to kill him.

Since that was the case, don't blame him for being impolite.

Ma Lu, already fuming from being killed twice without even a greeting, decided it was time to get his full revenge.

Then, Ma Lu, who was gearing up for a major showdown, died again.

This time he planned to contact the person who had previously screamed, and together they would ambush that damned rabbit.

But the latter heard his voice and, without pausing, ran even faster.

Ma Lu sensed something was wrong and deliberately took a step back, but still, he was impaled by something and died instantly.

However, he didn't come away empty-handed; at least he confirmed that the person who killed him the first and third times was not the guy in the rabbit costume.

Because there was no way that latter's Harpoon Gun could shoot through such a thick alloy door.

So when Ma Lu was resurrected again, he was more cautious. Though still intent on seeking revenge, he decided to pick an easier target.

Might as well go after that guy in the rabbit costume who appeared at the sixteen-minute mark.

Although the Harpoon Gun and chainsaw were also tricky weapons, they were within Ma Lu's understanding, unlike the weapon that killed him through the door which was totally bizarre.

16 minutes later, Ma Lu finally faced the guy in the rabbit costume, contributing his fourth drop of blood.

Seeing the other man pull out the Harpoon Gun, Ma Lu rolled to the side, but his action was too early, and the guy in the rabbit costume also adjusted his aim and easily pierced Ma Lu's heart again amidst the smooth jazz.

Again!

Ma Lu refused to believe this curse, recorded the timing of his shots, and focused all his energy, dodging just before the trigger was pulled.

This time he successfully avoided the fatal blow, but seeing the harpoon miss, the guy in the rabbit costume casually threw away the Harpoon Gun, took out the chainsaw, started it, and charged.

Ma Lu fought him and lasted less than three seconds before being bisected by the chainsaw!

Damn it! Again!!!

Ma Lu learned from his experience, dodged the harpoon coming straight at him then dodged the chainsaw falling from above, grabbed a crowbar, circled to the enemy's side, and swung at the latter's body.

However, possibly because the costume absorbed most of the impact, the blow only caused the man in the rabbit costume to sway slightly before the chainsaw slashed down again.

This time, Ma Lu's neck was slashed horizontally. Due to the absence of gravity, his head didn't fall to the ground but instead flew up, spinning in the air.

Before dying, Ma Lu saw his own headless body and the murderer bathed in a shower of blood.

The latter also looked up, staring directly at Ma Lu with his brown eyes sewn with two buttons.

Fine! You've got guts, kid. Don't run away after school!

Ma Lu's anger was fully ignited, he felt like playing "Sekiro" where the boss repeatedly schools him.

Today, he had to deal with this bastard no matter what.

After paying the price of twelve deaths, Ma Lu finally figured out a method to kill this damn Rabbit Man.

As the door opened halfway, not waiting for the one in the rabbit costume to see the situation inside, a chef's knife had already stabbed into his stomach.

Then, Ma Lu hit the Rabbit Man's left hand hard with a crowbar, knocking away his harpoon gun.

As he pulled the chainsaw from his waist, Ma Lu quickly pulled out the chef's knife from his lower abdomen, reversed the grip, and swiftly retreated two steps to regain distance from him.

The continuously oozing blood completely reddened his costume, and the person in the rabbit costume looked down at his wound, seemingly in disbelief.

But quickly he pressed the tape player, activated the chainsaw in his hand, and charged at Ma Lu again.

Inside his heart, Ma Lu rehearsed - first stepping half a step forward to the left to dodge the slash, then swiftly crouching down as the chainsaw brushed over his scalp and hit the metal wall next to him, sending sparks flying.

Seizing the opportunity, Ma Lu stood up, hooked his opponent's head with the crowbar, leaped up, and followed with a flying knee.

The hit staggered the guy badly, but Ma Lu didn't push his luck and again kept a distance from him.

Because, although this dead Rabbit Man had lost all weapons, his strength was much greater, and his counterattack before death was particularly fierce; getting caught by him would certainly mean a dead end.

At this moment, being greedy for a strike was taboo; Ma Lu preferred to retreat to a safe distance and deliver another round of attacks.

These were lessons learned from bloodshed.

The fierce struggle by the guy in the rabbit costume made his bleeding even worse, his body swaying on the verge of collapsing; Ma Lu could hear the heavy breaths coming from beneath the costume.

Then he counted to three silently in his mind.

The next moment, he and his opponent almost simultaneously sprung into action; unexpectedly, the guy in the rabbit costume didn't attack him but plunged toward the terminal on the wall.

But as if foreseeing the future, Ma Lu also forcefully threw the chef's knife in his hand in that direction.

This time, Fate finally favored him: the knife struck right into the chest of the dead Rabbit Man, giving him a chill through the heart.

The person in the rabbit costume finally stopped moving, the force of the knife struck him against the wall, and then he just floated there.

To prevent him from feigning death, Ma Lu picked up the dropped harpoon gun and fired another shot into his head.

Only then did he confirm that this troublesome opponent was dead beyond doubt.

Ma Lu breathed a sigh of relief; he was already drenched in sweat, this creature was truly difficult to kill.

Not only was he strong and quick, but his tolerance for pain was way beyond an ordinary person, and most crucially, he was very cunning.

The last time Ma Lu almost had him, but in his final breath, this dead Rabbit Man forcefully lunged toward the terminal, shutting the door that had been opened.

His cunning move dumbfounded Ma Lu, and in the end, he could only choose to restart by suicide.
