Chapter 10: lucky to have you
The man smiled warmly at Lily, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I think you're very lucky to have Ana as a friend, Lily," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "And I'm sure Ana feels the same way about you."
Lily's face lit up with a bright smile, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, Ana is the best," she said, her voice filled with conviction. "I don't know what I would do without her."
The man chuckled and raised his glass in a toast. "To Ana, then," he said, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "May she always be there to support and encourage you, Lily."
Lily clinked her glass against the man's and took a sip, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Ana wash over her. She knew that she was lucky to have Ana in her life, and she was determined to always be there for her, just as Ana had always been there for her.@@novelbin@@
As the night wore on, Lily had ended up drinking so much that she was now drunk to stupor, her face was now very red and her eyes were glassy.
"Ana's not back yet I'll go find her."
The man, whose name was Ryan, quickly stood up and grabbed Lily's arm, holding her in place. "I don't think that's a good idea, Lily," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "You're in no shape to go looking for Ana. Besides, I'm sure she's fine. She's probably just... um... powdering her nose or something."
Lily looked up at Ryan, her glassy eyes unfocused. "But I wanna see Ana," she slurred, her words barely intelligible. "I wanna make sure she's okay."
Ryan smiled patiently and led Lily back to her seat. "I'll make sure Ana is okay, Lily," he said. "But you need to sit down and rest for a bit. You're not feeling well."
Lily nodded, her head bobbing up and down. "Okay... okay..." she muttered, collapsing back into her seat.
Ryan sat down beside her, holding her hand in his. "Just rest, Lily," he said. "I'll take care of everything."
As Lily's head lolled back, Ryan gently lifted her into his arms and stood up. "I think it's time to get you home, Lily," he said, smiling down at her.
Lily mumbled something incoherent, but Ryan just chuckled and headed towards the exit, carrying her in his arms.
As Ryan walked towards the car, he couldn't help but think about how his night had taken an unexpected turn. He had been planning to attend to some important work matters, but then Ethan had called him and asked him to pick up Lily. Ryan had assumed it would be a quick and easy task, but instead, he had found himself spending the evening with a beautiful and charming woman who was now drunk and nestled in his arms.
As he reached the car, Ryan gently placed Lily in the passenger seat, making sure she was comfortable and secure. He then walked around to the driver's side and got in, starting the engine and beginning the drive.
As they drove, Ryan couldn't help but steal glances at Lily, who was now fast asleep in the passenger seat. He smiled to himself, thinking about how much he had enjoyed her company, even if she had been a bit tipsy. There was something about her that drew him in, something that made him want to get to know her better.
As Ryan drove,he suddenly realized that He didn't have Lily's address, he wanted to wak her up and ask her for it but as he looked at her peaceful face as she slept , he couldn't bring himself to wake her up, he decided to get her settled in a hotel nearby it was way more convenient for her safety.
He pulled up to the hotel entrance and carefully lifted Lily out of the car, cradling her in his arms. He walked into the hotel lobby, where he was greeted by the night Manager, a friendly woman with a warm smile.
"Can I help you, sir?" she asked, eyeing Lily's limp form in Ryan's arms.
"Yes, I need a room for... um... my friend here," Ryan said, trying to think of a delicate way to explain the situation. "She's had a bit too much to drink, and I want to make sure she's safe and comfortable."
The night manager nodded sympathetically. "Of course, sir. Let me just check availability... Ah, yes. I have a lovely room on the third floor. I'll just need you to fill out a registration form..."
Ryan nodded and followed the night manager to the reception desk, where he quickly filled out the form and handed over his credit card to pay for the room.
The night manager handed him a key card and smiled. "Room 314, sir. I'll have someone bring up some extra blankets and a bottle of water. And don't worry, I'll make sure the room is secure and that no one disturbs... um... your friend."
Ryan smiled and nodded his thanks, feeling a sense of relief that Lily was safe and being taken care of. He made his way to the elevator, Lily still cradled in his arms, and rode up to the third floor.
As he entered the room, he gently laid Lily down on the bed, removing her shoes and covering her with a blanket. He sat down beside her, watching her sleep for a moment, before standing up and making his way to the door.
"I think you have your own great qualities too,Your friend must be Lucky to have you too."
What do you think?
