Chapter 123: Chapter 113: Humanoid Destroyer
“Pop.” The door was pushed open.
“Prin…” The newcomer had only gotten halfway through the address when he saw the embrace of the two people inside and his voice cut off abruptly.
Chu Yu quickly pushed Rong Zhi away and looked towards the door, only to see that the person was Huan Yuan.
Huan Yuan also remembered the impropriety of his actions just now. He raised his hand and bowed slightly, saying, “Huan Yuan was rash. Please forgive me, Princess.” When he straightened up, his gaze swiftly swept over Rong Zhi.
Chu Yu raised her hand and straightened her slightly disheveled hair, attempting to remain composed as she said, “What’s the matter?” Although there was really nothing going on between her and Rong Zhi just now, for some reason, Chu Yu had the feeling of being caught red-handed and couldn’t help feeling waves of guilt.
A wry, somewhat amused expression crossed Huan Yuan’s face: “The Kunlun slave the Princess brought back…”
Chu Yu cut him off before he could finish, guessing that Amman had likely caused some other trouble, and waved her hand, “Take me to see.” Throughout the trip back, she had been preoccupied and had actually forgotten about the young African she had enticed away.
What trouble had he caused this time?
Huan Yuan led Chu Yu to Hua Cuo’s courtyard. Hua Cuo’s injuries had healed, and the potent medicinal smell that once permeated the courtyard had dissipated by seventy to eighty percent, with only a faint lingering bitterness remaining. The servants who had been living there to take care of Hua Cuo had also moved out, conveniently vacating rooms that required no major tidying up—these were given to the recently arrived Amman.
Although Chu Yu hadn’t specified, Huan Yuan had learned from others that Amman was picked up by Chu Yu on the road, and he knew a little of Amman’s glorious deeds at the Princess Mansion in Shan Yin County. Considering the barbaric power of a Kunlun slave, he had placed Amman with Hua Cuo, to fight fire with fire if necessary. Still, even that didn’t prepare him for the strength of this outwardly not-too-brawny African youth.
The signboard of the Three Thousand Flowers Sword at the entrance of the courtyard was hanging precariously. Chu Yu stepped into the courtyard and, upon seeing the scene inside, let out a laugh.
Right now, Amman was standing blankly in front of the door, with clear, confused eyes wide; he resembled a lost little dog. In his hand, he was holding a door panel.
“What happened?” With her heart’s ache swept away, Chu Yu turned to Huan Yuan and asked.
Huan Yuan sighed, “The door is meant to be pushed inward, but he gently pulled it outward… and this happened.” After pulling down the door, Amman simply refused to enter, but he just stood at the doorway without causing further trouble. Huan Yuan had no choice but to look for Chu Yu, which led to him witnessing the embrace between Chu Yu and Rong Zhi.
After listening to Huan Yuan’s explanation, Chu Yu walked up to Amman and asked with a smile, “Why are you standing here instead of going inside? This will be your home from now on.”
Upon seeing Chu Yu, a look of unease immediately appeared in Amman’s amber eyes. He looked at her pleadingly and stammered, “Meat, do not want, no give to me, wrong, do not drive, drive away…” Though he had not been in this land for long, didn’t understand the customs, and was even a bit slow-witted, Amman had a vague feeling that he had done something wrong that might displease the person who had fed him meat.
It took a while for Chu Yu to understand what Amman was trying to say. She gestured with her hand as she softly instructed, “You should say it like this, ‘Do not refuse to give me meat, do not drive me away.’ That’s the correct order.”
Chu Yu had Amman repeat after her slowly until he got the sentence right, then she reached out and patted his head. His short curls were not soft, but their fuzziness was quite unique, “Don’t be afraid. Just be more careful in the future, and go inside to rest. You must be tired from the journey,” she said, thinking how unlike herself who had comfortably sat in a carriage, Amman had walked the whole way.
Amman looked into the room and shook his head, “No, want, before, sleep outside, ground.”
Chu Yu had no choice but to rephrase his words herself, “No, in the past, I always slept on the ground outside. Here, repeat after me.” She decided that starting now, she would nurture the boy’s language skills. He didn’t need to be incredibly articulate, but at least he should be able to speak clearly enough to be understood immediately.
Then she continued, “I don’t care what it was like for you before, but once you’re with me, you’ll definitely have a place to live. I’ve said it, if you come with me, not only will you have meat to eat, but you’ll also have a house to live in, clothes to wear…” At this point, Chu Yu suddenly fell silent, her gaze resting on Amman. The clothes he was wearing were no longer the scraps he had on when she first saw him, but instead wore the same style as everyone else. Yet, even though the clothes were brand new, they now had a tear here, a missing patch there, hanging in tatters. Here a thigh was exposed, there half a chest, barely any different from being naked.
Embarrassed, Amman lowered his head, “Not, not used to it, clothes, trouble, reach out, broken.” He was not used to wearing clothes that covered him so completely, and with his enormous strength, the fabrics easily became rags hanging on his body.
Chu Yu’s smile stiffened for a moment, and she continued with a wave of her hand, “It’s okay, I have plenty of clothes here. If one gets ruined, you can switch to another. If you don’t like these clothes, just tell me what you used to wear, and I’ll have someone make it for you.”
On hearing this, Amman was immediately happy and began to tear off the tattered clothes on his body. However, his great strength was not boastful, with just a gentle tug, several layers of clothing ripped open like a sheet of thin paper, completely.
From top to bottom, from inside to outside, utterly…
Chu Yu’s eyes followed the smooth lines of his chest as they slowly moved downward… and then, with a sullen turn, she patted Huan Yuan’s shoulder, “You really had the foresight to arrange for him to stay here.” It seems he and Hua Cuo will have a lot in common.
After Amman had put on new clothes, Chu Yu once again faced him. The new outfit was a makeshift creation by the tailors of the mansion, guided by Rong Zhi’s description of the Kunlun slave’s attire. Because the prototype was simple and not very elaborate, layered across his bare upper body was a diagonally draped silk sash, and a horizontal strip resembling a short skirt wrapped around his waist, covering Amman’s midsection and buttocks. The exposed half of his lean black waistline and bare legs emanated a wild charisma.
Although the exotic beauty was captivating, it was unfortunate that this beauty had such brute strength. Although inherently good-natured, a slight carelessness in his movements could lead to the destruction of household objects. Just by walking around the room once, wood debris was already scattered about…
Chu Yu looked awkwardly at the wreckage and finally understood why Amman had ended up wandering alone. First, with his peculiar strength, few could force him, and second, even if they could, the destruction he caused while working would far exceed the value of his labor…
If not for the considerable wealth of the Princess Mansion, it wouldn’t be able to withstand such destruction.
She had initially thought she had found a great bargain, but it turned out to be a human-shaped wrecking ball.
But now that she had already picked him up, Chu Yu couldn’t bear to send Amman away. Given his temperament, if he were left to wander the streets, he would probably starve to death.
In a swift change of thought, Chu Yu had already made a plan. In the future, all the furniture and doors in Amman’s room would be made of iron, and various implements would be prepared for replacement at any time. After all, everything had to be taken slowly, and perhaps he could gradually learn to control his strength.
Now that Amman was staying with Hua Cuo, Chu Yu decided, by the way, to have Hua Cuo teach Amman martial arts. If such immense strength could be coupled with swordsmanship, he would likely become a very reliable combatant, a super fighter or a super bodyguard.
At the beginning, when Chu Yu lured Amman away, this was exactly what she had in mind.
She needed a true combat force that belonged solely to her, not like Yue Jiefei who was loyal to the imperial family, nor like Hua Cuo who required Rong Zhi’s approval for every assignment.
Amman, with his Innate Divine Strength, would undoubtedly be a fine choice if trained properly.
What do you think?
