"Prefecture Lord Xingsen has shown his nephew's corpse with a wound created by a blood path attack. If what you say is true then show me the girl's corpse. Her body must have a wound from the Prefecture Lord's attack, right?"

Qin Feng instantly refuted loudly:

"How do you expect me to do that? You already know that prefecture lord Xingsen captured me and brought me here. He had already gotten rid of the innocent girl's corpse."

Qin Feng glared at Tuo Xingsen, gritting his teeth in anger.

He then continued: "Lord Patriarch, I have a way to prove the truth. You can carry out an investigation to find the truth. There have been numerous victims of the Village overseer's lechery among the villages he was incharge of."

"Moreover, Hu Ni, the father of that girl is in Huan Village. You can send someone to fetch him. He is the eyewitness of my statement." Qin Feng pleaded with confidence.

He was certain that the Village Overseer's crimes would be exposed once a proper investigation was conducted.

The patriarch looked at him before nodding in agreement: "Alright. I'll send someone to fetch the villager you are talking about."

Though he had decided to get Qin Feng killed to get rid of the demonic treasure, even then, he couldn't blatantly kill him without any justifiable reason.

His tribe was of righteous path and they had to follow the righteous ways.

The reason he agreed to Qin Feng's request was simple. He knew what was going to happen and thus, thought this was going to be to his benefit.

He sent a peakmaster to fetch Hu Ni from the Huan tribe.

In less than half an hour, the peakmaster returned with Hu Ni who had dark circles under his eyes, clearly tired from no sleep.

The patriarch glanced at Hu Ni before asking Qin Feng:

"Is this the villager you were talking about?"

Qin Feng nodded in response. He was confident that now the truth will be revealed.

The patriarch then turned his gaze to Hu Ni and inquired: "Villager, Qin Feng here is saying that your daughter was kidnapped yesterday by the Village Overseer and he went to save your daughter where your daughter was killed by the Prefecture Lord and Qin Feng, in revenge, killed the Village Overseer."

"Is this true?" He asked with a stern gaze.

Tears flowed down his eyes as he answered with a quivering voice: "M-My daughter... She died due to a beast that appeared near our village yesterday. The village overseer has nothing to do with that."

He bit his lower lips, his eyes reddened as he spoke sniffling due to being overwhelmed with emotions:

"The Village Overseer was an h-honest man and did n-nothing bad. I-It is regretful that he was killed."

"Huh? So you mean that Qin Feng is lying?" The patriarch asked.

Hu Ni glanced at the shocked Qin Feng before revealing a confused expression as he answered: "I-I'm seeing this man for the first time, my lord."

The Patriarch was about to speak when Qin Feng suddenly yelled:

"Uncle Hu Ni, Why are you lying? I will be executed if you don't speak the truth. Please don't do this."

At this moment, the patriarch's thunderous voice came crashing down:

"Qin Feng! Did I allow you to speak? When I'm speaking, Don't Interrupt!"

"But..." Qin Feng bit his lower lip in helplessness upon seeing the threatening glare of the Patriarch.

The patriarch could of course discern that Hu Ni was lying right now and Qin Feng was in the right, however, he had to make sacrifices here for the greater good.

He couldn't allow Qin Feng to continue living with that dangerous treasure on him.

"Villager, is this your final testimony?" The patriarch questioned for confirmation.

Hu Ni nodded with tears in his eyes.

"Alright, you can leave."

Hu Ni was then escorted back to his village by one of the disciples of the sect.

The patriarch rested his gaze on Qin Feng and asked:

"Are you satisfied? Even an eyewitness you yourself called has given testimony against you. Do you still want to refute your crimes? It'll be wise for you to simply accept the punishment."

Qin Feng was silent for a moment before a mocking smile appeared on his face. He had realized everything. Tears welled up in his eyes as he spoke with a bitter smile:

"I see now... You, lord patriarch... you want me dead, right?"

"Huh? What are you talking about??" The patriarch acted confused.

His voice carried an almost broken laugh, as if he was forcing himself to accept the cruel truth.

"You want me to believe that you, an emperor realm expert, weren't able to see through Uncle Hu Ni's lies? You couldn't see the pain in his voice and his gaze? You couldn't see the helplessness he had on his face when he spoke all those things he didn't want to say?"

His eyes glistened with unshed tears, his fists clenching as he struggled to contain his emotions:

"If you are ignoring all that just to frame me as the culprit and have me executed, then what else am I supposed to understand from all this?"

The patriarch's face carried a grim expression upon hearing this as he questioned:

"Are you accusing me of taking sides?"

Hearing his question, Qin Feng burst into a sarcastic laughter as he asked:

"Hahaha, Is it not obvious? Even with the truth in front of you, you refuse to see it. You are simply trying to prove me guilty just to get rid of me. It is this demonic treasure, right? You want it, don't you?"

"You!... You dare accuse me of greed?" The patriarch yelled releasing a strong pressure that made Qin Feng fell to his knee.

However, he didn't stop speaking: "You can have it. I'll give you this treasure. Take it."

"You really don't know when to stop!!" The patriarch roared, however, just as he was about to attack, he sensed a powerful presence approaching.

His eyes suddenly widened as an elder rushed inside before yelling loudly:

"EMERGENCY!!"

"The Blood Demon Lord has entered the tribe and is approaching here fast!"
