Chapter 42: First step in Isolating Daisy

At that moment, when I was grinning evilly to myself, someone knocked on the door of my room.

Knock! Knock!

"Young Master, it’s time to go to the academy for your awakening."

The voice was heavy and disciplined, like that of a strict old man, and I recognized it from the memory of this body.

"Coming Albert."

Shouting loud enough to be heard outside the room, I got up, and gave myself a quick final touch before exiting the room.

There, an old, white haired man in a black butler suit was waiting for me.

"Ready to leave, Young Master?"

"Yes."

I said and moved forward, while Albert bowed and followed me from behind.

In this world, my father was the head of the Vaiself conglomerate, and I was his sole heir to the throne.

My mother was dead, and I was the only family left to my father, so he doted on me to no end, causing me to become an arrogant bully.

Or, in short, a typical, and infamous rich second generation of this novel called "Regressor of Hunter Academy."

It was an academy plot about a waste protagonist impressing female instructors, defeating the rich second generation, rising against the sky, and reaching the top.

Obviously, I was the rich second generation in this story, enamored by that bitch Daisy, who clung to me because of my family.

But, in the novel, when she found out that the I wasn’t a talented hunter, she started ignoring me.

Nevertheless, she didn’t end the relationship because she still needed the Vaiself family, but behind my back, she spoke ill of me.

Which, when found out by me, triggered my retaliation and caused me to become the target of her licking dog, Richard.

Resulting in my tragic, untimely death, followed by the downfall of the Vaiself family, the remnant of which was annexed by the protagonist and gifted to the bitch Daisy.

’Damn bastard, just how much of a simp can he be?’

In his previous life, Daisy sacrificed her own life to save Richard.

When Richard asked her in her final moments why she bullied him so much when she was such a good girl, she replied:

"I was helpless back in the day. I was young and hot blooded... Cough! Cough!"

"Daisy, I will take you to the hospital..."

"No Richard... Cough! Cough! There’s no hope left for me... I was an idiot back then... I will pay with my life to atone for my sins... I hope you will forgive me..."

With that, the bloodied Daisy died in front of Richard’s eyes, while he screamed and cried to the heavens for this injustice.

Since Daisy was the first girl to care for him, Richard fell for her and vowed that if there was a next life, he would give her everything and make her fall for him.

Truth be told, Richard was a hidden masochistic pervert who had been in love with Daisy ever since she first bullied him in high school.

He already had feelings for her, and this incident only confirmed them.

But what he didn’t know was that it was all a lie.

Daisy never regretted her actions.

The reason she saved him was because she was suffering from a Chaos curse and her death was inevitable.

Therefore, instead of suffering that soul wrenching pain, she decided to give herself a quick death.

It just so happened that Richard’s predicament was the first she encountered.

For the sake of a positive legacy after her death, she lied in her final hours.

Which meant that even in her dying moments, she played with Richard’s feelings.

Nonetheless, this doesn’t make Richard pitiful.

’It just makes me want to curse that simp even more.’

Because, later in the storyline, Richard actually found out this truth, but instead of resenting her, that simp bastard forgave her.

"Fuck!"

"Something’s troubling you, Young Master?"

"It’s nothing, I just remembered something disgusting, you keep on driving."

"Yes."

From the rearview mirror of the car, Albert cast me a worried glance, but he decided to obey my instructions and did not inquire further.

’It’s always good to have a sensible butler, but... I am missing my playful Charlotte.’

My thoughts wandered aimlessly as memories of Seo-ah, Rachael, Charlotte, and Maria kept popping into my head.

Sigh!

I took a deep sigh.

The urge to close my eyes overcame me suddenly, and with my head leaning on the window glass, I unknowingly fell asleep.

...

"We are about to reach our destination, Young Master."

Not long after, Albert’s voice woke me up.

Looking out of the window, I was greeted with High-tech spires and buildings adorned with strange glyphs and symbols adorning their walls, while the students walked by in academy uniform.

The background of this world was different from the Earth of my novel, but the power system was exactly the same.

Class, stats, traits, skills, Dungeon Cracks, and monsters were all the same.

However, since this was not a world where a game became reality, there was no concept of a system here.

Instead, everyone in this world was born with mana, and could level to their upper limit, which was Level 10, by killing monsters.

To advance further, they had to awaken their Class, which only a few people could do at the age of 20.

And there was only one way to do it.

That was to send mana shockwaves into a person’s body, which could clean their pathway and awaken the Class sleeping Dormant within them.

Of course, only an extremely small number of people could actually awaken their Class.

These awakened were then admitted to the Hunter’s Academy, where they became professional Hunters, cleared the Dungeon Cracks, and defeated the Monsters, etc.

"Alister: Tanker Class, Good Potential, Congratulations!"

"Yoho!"

"Alright, step aside... Next cadet, come forward."

In response to the results being yelled out by the lead instructor, the long line of people waiting to undergo the awakening process advanced.

But I wasn’t like them; I skipped the line with a few of my bodyguards, following an academy instructor our family had sponsored, who was currently speaking to Albert.

The onlookers were green with envy, but after seeing my group, nobody dared to complain.

’Hunter Academy may be government-run and have an egalitarian motto, but in a capitalist or jungle law society, money and power still talk first.’

In addition, the Vaiself group of companies were significant contributors to and sponsors of Hunter Academy, so I was naturally accorded VIP treatment.

But I paid it no mind.

My eyes were looking for a particular person.

Fortunately, I didn’t have to look for long before a crisp and sweet female voice called me out.

"Adrian!"

’Found you!’

I grinned in my mind.

When I looked back in that direction, I saw a golden-blonde beauty in a blue sweater and black jeans running towards me.

Indeed, she was none other than my target and the heroine of this world, Daisy.

"Miss. Please keep some distance."

Despite the fact that my bodyguards knew Daisy and that we had been friends since high school, they stopped her when she tried to approach me.

’They’re good.’

Inwardly, praising them, I ordered them to move aside.

"You all step aside."

"Yes, Young Master."

Once the way was clear, Daisy jumped towards me, grabbing my arms and shaking them gently while pretending to be a child and whining.

"Adrian! You should teach your bodyguards not to stop me again, and you should have told me that you were also coming today."

’Ah! Look at this bitch, ordering me around as if I were her servant.’

The urge to slap this bitch came, but I suppressed it and first removed her hands, then spoke flatly.

"These are my bodyguards, and it’s their duty to protect me... Also, why should I tell you anything? Remember, we are just friends."

I put emphasis on the last words, speaking them slowly.

Those were the exact words Daisy always spoke to the old Adrian to stop his advances and questions—aka, friendzoning him.

Daisy’s expressions darkened as she heard her own words used against her, first in shock and then in anger.

"You—"

"Daisy, what happened?"

But before she could speak, a shout from behind her interrupted her in the middle.

Looking behind her, there were three girls walking towards us.

It was clear what they were here for.

Daisy must have come to use me again to bypass the long line with her friends and get the VIP treatment.

After which she would take all the credit, mock me to her friends, and make fun of me as her licking dog.

Unfortunately for her, I wasn’t the old Adrian.

"Young Master, any problem?"

When Albert heard the commotion, he stopped and asked me, while the instructor stood by his side.

"Nothing Albert... and instructor," I turned to the middle aged instructor with ash gray hair.

"Yes, Young, Ahem! I mean cadet Adrian."

"None of these people are with me... So what treatment should be given to them? I think, as the instructor, you know better."

"Yes, don’t worry, I will inform other instructors to take care of them."

The middle aged instructor was a shrewd man, and he immediately understood my intentions.

’Looks like this one’s worth investing.’

I praised him inwardly.

But hearing those words instantly paled the faces of those girls, including Daisy.

They knew that even if they got awakened, their life in the Academy would not be good with an instructor on their back.

Immediately, Daisy became furious and yelled.

"Adrian, you."

"What you?"

However, her head dipped in submission when she heard the voice of indifference and felt my piercing, icy gaze, sending a chill down her entire body.

"Adrian, leave Daisy, aren’t we also your friends, right? Can’t we come with you?"

"Ho! Yes indeed, you are sensible girls, much better than some snakes, you all can come with me, and even in the future, if you have something, just come to me directly, okay?"

"Really?"

"Awesome."

"I know Adrian is the best."

They all cheered in joy, feeling relieved, and without even giving Daisy a second look, they all came to my side.

"You bitches, you’re siding with him...!"

Looking at the betrayal of her own friends, Daisy cursed, but before she could even complete her sentence, she was pressed down by the pressure of the mana the instructor beside me released.

"This is not your home for you to use such foul language."

"Ugh!"

She groaned in pain as her body instinctively knelt down.

Her eyes went bloodshot, but I ignored it all, and went inside with the three black haired girls.

Looking at Daisy’s situation, they swallowed dry saliva, and immediately any shrewd thought vanished from their heads.

With a 180 degree change, they continued to chirp around me like birds and continued to insult their friend—I mean, ex-friend Daisy in front of me.

All to show that they weren’t on her side, but mine.

But I took it all nonchalantly, replying in between, while in my heart I was grinning maliciously.

I knew that when Daisy’s anger died down, she would realize her predicament much more clearly and would come to apologize to me on her own.

However, that was not the point.

The point was that the plan to isolate her had begun successfully.

’And it won’t be long before Daisy is left with no one to rely on, just like Sylvia.’

No...

Sylvia was an angel in front of this bitch.

Therefore, this bitch needed to suffer way worse than she did.

’Just you wait, Daisy, I will make sure to trample on you so thoroughly, that no one in this world can fix you.’

’I will make sure that this world hates you.’

’That you have no place to even rest in this world.’

’I will make you feel true despair.’

’No mercy for bitches.’

A malicious light flashed past my eyes, as I laughed like a devil in my head, more freely than ever before.

It was as if someone had let loose my inner demons.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ..."
