Chapter 43: Dual Class

Leaving behind an enviously large crowd, Isaac, I, the three girls, and Albert entered the awakening hall.

The hall looked like something out of a fairy tale.

Arched ceilings adorned with glowing, intricate runes, walls made of an ancient stone, and a polished marble floor with its surface reflecting the ethereal glow from above.

It was only one of the many halls where the awakening process was going on.

Upon entering, Isaac went straight to the blue-haired instructor in charge here, whispered something to him, and then nodded and called.

"Cadet Adrian, come here and put your hand on the purple awakening crystal."

"Yes instructor."

In front of me were two raised altars decorated with carvings of whirling spells and concentric magic circles.

Each altar had a glowing crystal floating above it, held there by an invisible force.

The first crystal had a radiant shade of purple, while the second was a fiery red crystal.

Following the instructor’s directions, I extended my hand, feeling the cold surface of the crystal, when, within a second of my touch...

Zooom!

A shockwave of mana erupted from the crystal and passed through my body, making me feel like I was standing on a vibrator.

[Caution! Unknown mana detected!]

[The unknown mana can open the blocked mana pathway inside a body.]

[Does the host want to try expelling the unknown mana with the remaining UC?]

’No, allow it in.’

[Confirmation recieved]

Beads of cold sweat formed on my forehead as the System let the unknown mana in.

My body felt like it was being compressed and bloated at the same time, and I wanted to throw up.

Fortunately, the process was over within a few seconds, and I took a deep breath.

Phew~!

[A new pathway has been successfully opened inside the host’s body.]

[A new Class, ’Warrior,’ has been unlocked.]

[The skill Dual Mana Stream is syncing the new mana pathway with the soul.]

[Congratulations! The host can now use two different types of mana pathways.]

Buzzz!

As soon as the process was completed, the purple crystal buzzed, and confirmed my awakening to a new Class.

Witnessing this, the cheerful voices of the three girls, Albert, and both the instructors came one by one.

"Hurray! As expected of Adrian." x 3

"Congratulations! Young Master."

"Congratulations! Cadet Adrian." x 2

"Thank you everyone."

I answered in a humble way with a soft, calm smile, as if what had happened didn’t matter much to me.

Looking at this, the blue haired instructor nodded satisfyingly and spoke.

"Now do the same with the red crystal so we can see your Class and measure your potential."

"Yes."

Standing in front of the red crystal, I placed my hand on it, and another System prompt appeared in my vision.

[Does the host allow the unknown mana to scan the host’s mana pathway?]

’Allow it, also, can you use the 90 UC to disguise my potential to be higher?’

[Calculating...]

[90 UC will only allow the host’s potential to be disguised as Ultimate for a total of 3 seconds.]

[Does the host agree?]

’I agree.’

[UC deducted successfully]

All of this occurred in my head in an instant, and as soon as my UC was deducted...

Shing!

White light engulfed my body and spread throughout the room, blinding everyone but the two instructors and Albert.

[3]

"Hey! What happened?"

The girls were temporarily blinded and screamed because of the intense light, which even the instructors found shocking.

[2]

However, this wasn’t the end.

Rumble!

The altar below the red crystal shook crazily, and the crystal stopped spewing more light.

[1]

Around that time, the time limit for disguise by system ended, and I decisively pulled back my hand.

Fush!

It caused the light to vanish, the girls regained their sight, and the crystal projected the results on a red holographic screen.

[Dual Class: Warrior and Mage]

[Potential: Ultimate]

"WHAT?!"

Isaac and the blue-haired instructor both shouted in unison.

Following their shout, the others also noticed the results.

"D... Dual Class?"

"Wait! Something like that is even possible?"

"Is the crystal malfunctioning?"

Loud exclamations came out of their mouths one by one but stopped when the blue haired instructor shouted.

"Silence!"

Then he rushed towards me with excitement and asked with anticipation.

"Cadet Adrian? How do you feel? Can you feel and use both Classes’ skills?"

But before I could respond...

"I want to see it too."

A female voice that I didn’t recognize startled me.

Woah!

My body turned instinctively in the direction of the voice, and there I saw a young woman with white hair and a red Mage robe and hat.

She had a sharply angular face and thin, sword-like eyebrows.

I instantly recognized her from my memory

"Headmistress."

With my fists cupped, I gave her a smile.

Despite her youthful appearance, I was aware that she was actually an 80-year-old hag.

A short while later, the instructors also quickly regained their composure and spoke up to clarify the circumstances.

"We—"

"No need."

However, the headmistress abruptly stopped them, waving her hand and sternly ordering their eviction.

"You both go back to work, I will take it from here."

Both instructors were reluctant after hearing that because they wanted to watch my demonstration but dared not defy her.

"...Yes"

Not to mention that they already broke the rules by treating me like a VIP, and they knew that the Headmistress was already being lenient by saying nothing about it.

So they quickly returned to their work, Isaac left the hall, and the blue-haired instructor announced the results over the microphone.

"Adrian: Dual Class, Warrior and Mage, Ultimate Potential, Congratulations!"

Woah!!!

The instructor’s voice echoed throughout the Academy’s campus, and the entire crowd burst into a roar that could be heard even inside the hall.

"You three also come here and quickly take your turns."

Hearing the call, the three girls, who had stars in their eyes looking at me, also suddenly woke up, embarrassed, and went for their awakening.

Meanwhile, the Headmistress who approached me, spoke.

"Cadet Adrian, shall we talk in private?"

"I am afraid that will not be possible, you see, I have some urgent work to do."

"Yeah, follow me... What?!"

The Headmistress realized a second later what I said, and she exclaimed in surprise with her eyes widening, as if she couldn’t believe that I actually rejected her.

But I wasn’t over yet, as I continued.

"Yes, so if you have anything to say, please speak here, or you can talk to my butler."

"..."

Her breathing became rapid after hearing my blunt words.

She was a little furious.

Phew~!

Nonetheless, she didn’t let it show on her face, and after a deep breath, she regained her composure.

"Like they say, the tiger father doesn’t have a dog cub."

"..."

This time, I didn’t say anything.

I just tilted my head, feigning ignorance, but I understood what she meant, and what she wanted to say to me in private.

It was merely some nonsense about how I had to aid the weak and the poor, assist her at the Academy in the future, etc.

All of this was an invitation to join her faction and fight against the Deputy Headmaster’s.

This was an offer she made to my father in the past, and he flatly refused it.

Hence her earlier comment, which was sarcasm on her part.

As for why she was rejected,

Because, she was a self righteous, biased bitch who had prejudice against the rich, and was in extreme favor of the poor and weak,

To paraphrase her, "the rich should give to the poor and expect nothing in return."

Truly, there was something wrong with her brain that worked like a virgin bitch.

It was not surprising, given her character, that the Deputy Headmaster had taken an open stand against her, putting her in a difficult position.

Honestly, I wasn’t in the mood to confront this bitch, but she had the audacity to mock me directly in the face, as if she thought I wouldn’t catch on.

’It looks like some plans need to be changed.’

Just as my mind was formulating a strategy for how I could teach this bitch a lesson in the future, her voice jolted me out of my thoughts.

"Nothing"

She spoke as if she knew I wouldn’t understand her, and she changed the subject.

"Can you demonstrate the powers of your Classes?"

Nodding my head, I snapped my fingers, and a small flame appeared above my index finger.

After that, I urged my mana in accordance with the instincts of my Warrior Class, and a thin layer of blue aura covered my hands.

"Wonderful."

Her expressions of amazement this time were genuine, and the others who saw my demonstration weren’t different.

The Dual Class was that rare.

Not to mention one with Ultimate potential.

Of course, the potential was a hoax, but they don’t need to know that.

"Others may find it hard to manage two classes, but—"

Then it was just her pointless speech, which I interrupted a split second later and left the hall with my entourage and the three girls.

Only one of the girls was able to awaken her Class.

The others could only sob as we made our way back.

When we came out, the crowd was still in uproar from the news of my Dual Class.

Fortunately, since no one was aware of my face, I was able to successfully get out without being crowded by the Hunters and reporters.

Nevertheless, because of the path I took intentionally, we once again ended up facing that bitch of a heroine, Daisy, who also noticed my group.

When she saw me, she rushed towards me, and this time I ordered my bodyguards not to not stop her.

"Adrian, that announcement..."

She was just as shocked as others about my Class news.

"Yes, it was indeed me."

"Congratulations! I am happy for you... As for what happened earlier..."

I could see the hidden greed and fury in her eyes as she initially congratulated me, then lowered her head and spoke meekly.

It was all an act by her, I was too familiar with it.

Therefore, I cut her in the middle.

"Not here, meet me at our usual meet up point, tomorrow at 8:00 P.M."

"Okay!"

She replied excitedly.

When I would met her later, I was sure she would try to manipulate me.

To this, I could only say that I would make tomorrow night something that she would never be able to forget in her life.

’Hehehe.’

I giggled inwardly, and suddenly felt a murderous gaze on me from the crowd.

Without even checking, I knew it was our protagonist.

He might be jealous to death and confused as hell as to why things were different than he remembered.

Unfortunately, It wasn’t yet time to confront him, so I ignored him and left the area.

Of course, not before exchanging numbers with those three girls and giving them a consoling hug.

’Hehehe.’

Not long later, I was back in my house, in my room, and immediately jumped on the bed, lying down, looking at the ceiling, lost in thought.

To be honest, Dual classes don’t mean much to me.

It was all a façade just to increase my value, starting privileges, and advantages.

Later in the story, even the protagonist himself had Dual classes.

Not to mention, only I knew that my Warrior Class’s traits and skills were trash, and without my Mana Affinity, even my Mage class was just an empty shell.

The potential of this body was the lowest.

However, there were reasons why I was considered a big villain and not a random mob.

First, there was the Vaiself family behind me, and then there was this skill.

[Skill: Chaos Ritual (Active / Passive)]

A skill to contact the endless Chaotic world of nothingness and make a deal with the creatures of Chaos present there.

One had to know that in Richard’s first life, the person who actually cursed Daisy and wreaked havoc in the world, was none other than me.

"Hehehe."
