Chapter 17 Role Reversal, Qi Lin Takes the Lead
Qi Lin took a swift step forward, wrapping his arm around Lan Yuxi’s slender waist. As expected of Huashi First High’s school beauty, she exuded youthful charm, carrying a faint and sweet fragrance unique to young girls.
Of course, Qi Lin wasn’t trying to take advantage of Lan Yuxi. To him, such crude actions were beneath him. If he were to get closer to her, he wanted her to come to him willingly.
Just like Wang Siling before—despite resisting, despising, and being furious, she still reluctantly and tearfully kissed him.
“Look what I found,” Qi Lin said, holding Lan Yuxi with one arm while searching her pocket with the other. Soon, a slip of paper appeared in his hand.
Lan Yuxi’s small fists, which had been weakly protesting, suddenly froze. Her flushed face, filled with shame and anger, turned blank. As mentioned earlier, she had copied two sets of answers from the office.
She had already used one set during the morning exam, shredded it, and flushed it away.
The second set, which she hadn’t used yet, was tucked into her pocket.
“Qi Lin, you bastard! Give me back the paper!”
This time, Lan Yuxi lost her composure entirely. Her delicate face was filled with panic, and she didn’t even seem to notice that Qi Lin’s arm was still around her waist.
She stood on her tiptoes, desperately trying to snatch the slip of paper from his hand. Unfortunately for her, Qi Lin, at 1.8 meters tall, was far out of her reach. Even though Lan Yuxi was 1.7 meters tall—a respectable height for a girl—it was still insufficient against Qi Lin’s stature.
“What do you think would happen if I gave this paper to the homeroom teacher?”
Lan Yuxi, standing on her toes and wriggling in his arms, only made Qi Lin feel more at ease. However, her face turned pale at his words.
The handwriting on the paper was unmistakably hers—no one could have forged it. Combined with the fact that she had scored perfectly in the morning exam and had been seen in the office, presenting this paper to the teacher would make her guilt undeniable.
Realizing the grave consequences, the pride in Lan Yuxi’s expression vanished. Acknowledging she couldn’t win against Qi Lin, she withdrew her hands.
Despite still being held by Qi Lin, she didn’t dare to struggle anymore. Her expression turned pitiful as she pleaded, “Qi Lin, I was wrong before. I shouldn’t have looked down on you. How about this? From now on, if you want to copy my homework, I’ll let you. Just give me back the paper, okay?”
This was the first time Qi Lin had seen Lan Yuxi concede so meekly. Looking at her pitiful expression, he felt an immense sense of satisfaction.
Wang Cheng, oh Wang Cheng!
Look at your future wife—she’s in my arms now, begging me in a low voice.
“I’m just a poor student. You looking down on me is only natural. Besides, I don’t need your approval, nor do I want to copy your homework,” Qi Lin replied, his tone casual and indifferent.
With Lan Yuxi now at his mercy, the roles had reversed—it was his turn to act superior.
“Then… then what do you want? Just tell me, what will it take for you to give me back the paper?” Lan Yuxi asked, her face filled with grievance.
For the first time in her life, the pampered Lan Yuxi found herself in such a humiliating position, pleading with someone she had always looked down upon—a spoiled rich second-generation kid.
What was worse, Qi Lin didn’t seem to care about her efforts to appease him.
“I assume you wouldn’t want your parents to find out about your cheating, right? Let’s make a deal,” Qi Lin said, grinning slyly as his predatory intentions finally surfaced.
“No… no way!” Lan Yuxi stammered.
Her father was a police officer known for his integrity and strictness. He had always taught her to be honest and hardworking, never to deceive or cheat.
If he discovered she had cheated, she would face his wrath—a stern lecture, perhaps even a punishment with a rattan cane.
Worse, he might drag her to school and force her to apologize publicly to the entire student body. The mere thought of it made her legs tremble.
“Good, you don’t want that. So here’s my proposal—give me a kiss, and I’ll return the paper. What do you say?”
Qi Lin waved the paper in front of her, his dark eyes gleaming with amusement.
“No way!”
Lan Yuxi gasped.
She never imagined that Qi Lin’s ultimate demand would be her. Like a startled rabbit, she broke free from his grasp and backed away several steps.@@novelbin@@
Lan Yuxi wasn’t perfect—she had cheated on her exam. But at the same time, she was a traditional girl.
Wang Cheng had been pursuing her for so long, doing everything he could to please her. Yet, even with his devotion, Lan Yuxi had never let him touch her.
She had promised Wang Cheng that she would only date him after they both got into the same university. Her first kiss was something she considered sacred—there was no way she would give it to Qi Lin over a slip of paper.
“No? Then I guess I’ll just hand this paper to the homeroom teacher,” Qi Lin said, still calm, waving the paper with a playful smile.
Lan Yuxi frantically shook her head, her eyes already welling with tears. She couldn’t give Qi Lin her first kiss, but she also couldn’t let the truth about her cheating be exposed. Now, she found herself completely trapped, caught between two impossible choices.
What do you think?
