Chapter 1326: Section 1327: Transmutation
The appearance of Pat Manor became a haven for the newly arrived servants.
Even Mana, the Head Maid, and Swoki, the Knight, couldn’t help but reveal smiles that had been absent for a long time.
Soon, everyone’s living arrangements were made, including Jon, who moved back into the stilted building. Angel left a collection of books about the transcendent world in the stilted building for Jon to study when he had free time.
Once everyone’d settled down, Angel prepared to leave.
As he was about to depart, Ollie cautiously approached him and asked, “Young Master, Mana, the Head Maid, mentioned that the Viscount’s and your rooms have been left untouched. Does this mean you will be visiting here often?”
Hope flickered in Ollie’s eyes as she voiced the question that the other servants also yearned to know.
Including Mana, the Head Maid, who was looking toward them from afar.
Angel and Lyon exchanged a glance and nodded, “Of course! This is Pat Manor, it is also our home.”
Their answer eased the tension of everyone around; for them, Pat Manor was indeed a haven, but the true core of their spirit was anchored by the two masters.
With this, the servant arrangements were happily concluded.
Angel returned to reality first while Lyon, in a rare instance, stayed in the Wilderness of Dreams. His feelings of guilt had not entirely dissipated. He wanted to spend a bit more time with them, to find some peace of mind.
Once back in reality, Angel found himself on the rooftop terrace again. Leaning on the railing, he looked at the silent, pitch-black manor under the night sky, with the moon’s soft glow casting a silvery sheen over the tranquil manor.
The distant trees rustled in the wind while the lights of Gru Town twinkled like stars, merging with the celestial ones.
At that moment, his long-tense heart finally found peace.
The next day, Eulica woke from her frenzy. Together with White Bear, she found Angel and spoke many indistinct words. Perhaps it was gratitude, thanking Angel for reuniting her with White Bear; or maybe it was an apology for those servants who laid buried underground.
Then, perhaps out of guilt, Eulica took White Bear and temporarily left the manor. Neither Angel nor Lyon knew where they went; however, it must have been within the Old Earth Continent since Sanders frequently visited during the daytime to teach Lyon and departed in the evenings.
Sanders also left a week later.
The departure of Sanders caught Angel off guard.
According to Sanders, he was planning to visit an old friend in the seventh region of the Stone Mulberry Dynasty. He had heard rumors that she might have obtained a scroll that could increase one’s luck attribute.
Although it was just hearsay, if it turned out to be true, Sanders intended to exchange for it, or borrow it under the guise of studying it.
That way, he wouldn’t have to trade with Vifette, who demanded exorbitant prices in exchange for Constant Fragments.
At the same time, the seventh region housed a vast Wizard Market, with a cash flow just slightly less than that of Sky Mechanical City. This Wizard Market was known as—Punk Theme Park.
Sanders planned to visit the market as well, seeking resources that could aid in Jon’s salvation.
The two reasons for Sanders’ departure were both for Angel’s sake. Angel felt somewhat embarrassed, wanting to accompany him, but Sanders firmly refused.
According to the timeline, even if “Mirror” hadn’t been published yet, news of Angel’s survival must have already spread. Now was the peak time for the Frostmoon Alliance to be frantically searching for him, and if Angel showed himself now, even Monty might come looking for him personally as soon as rumors spread.
Therefore, it was better for Angel to stay in Pat Manor.
“Just to be safe, I’ll leave a Hawk Falcon here,” Sanders paused for a moment. “Then, you craft a Log-in Device and give it to the Hawk Falcon. Should anything unexpected happen at the manor, the Hawk Falcon will automatically head to the Wilderness of Dreams.”
“And I will also leave a contact Hawk Falcon permanently in the Wilderness of Dreams, so we can exchange information, allowing me to return immediately if needed.”
Thanks to the Wilderness of Dreams serving as a medium for contact, Sanders dared to leave at this time. In case of any emergency, he could always use the Plane Corridor to return promptly.
Afterwards, Sanders went over some other details, such as the issue with Popota and the trip to Black Castle, among other things…
Once everything had been arranged, Sanders opened the Plane Corridor and departed Pat Manor.
Following Sanders’ instructions, Angel crafted a high-quality Log-in Device for the remaining Magic Falcon, capable of 979 log-ins.
As the Blood Night Shelter’s aura was needed to hide from the detection of Prophet Wizards, Popota did not leave with Sanders. He was now remaining at the manor, spending extended periods in the Geometric Lock.
To put resources to their best use, Angel took out the Pliant Worm nest and prepared a mutation chart, asking Popota to help take care of the Pliant Worms according to the chart’s instructions.
With Popota’s care, Angel’s burden was much lighter. He just occasionally checked on the Pliant Worms’ status, recorded progress and results, and left most of it to Popota.
The rest of the time, Angel devoted himself to constructing the Gate Model. He even put aside his research on the green pattern in his right eye, and even the issue of the Primeval Flame.
During that period, time slowly passed.
While Angel was cultivating, the manor was also undergoing changes.
Since Eulica and Suise had left the manor for “some reason,” and Rolando was still in Suise’s Exile Space, the threat of the Crimson Authority gradually dissipated. Thus, Lyon called back the servants who had been temporarily released, including the members of the Kulakuka Tribe, who returned to the new village in the tea garden.
The manor had been neglected for some time, so the first thing the servants did was to repair it.
With the skilled and capable Kulakuka tribespeople helping, the progress of the repairs was very rapid.
The once quiet manor was finally bustling again.
Although the deaths of Mana, the Head Maid, and others cast a shadow of sorrow over the manor, time heals many wounds; only the lingering memories and indelible recollections will forever remain in their hearts.
Everything was getting better, which restored the long-lost sparkle in Lyon’s eyes.
Sometimes when thinking of Mana, the Head Maid, and others, Lyon would also visit the Wilderness of Dreams. — Angel had forged a log-in device for Lyon while making the Hawk Falcon’s log-in device, with 979 log-in attempts, which meant he didn’t have to worry about running out of attempts any time soon, unlike the last time with the one-time log-in pocket watch.
As reality improved, the lives of Mana, the Head Maid, and others in the Wilderness of Dreams finally got on track.
On regular days, they would first carry out the tasks assigned by Frode, which allowed them to meet more residents of the Dream Realm. Furthermore, the tasks carefully selected by Frode meant they dealt with people who were generally kind and gentle in nature.
So, in a short time, they built up a new circle of friends.
With new friends, although they still missed their days in reality, they started to accept the pace of life there.
Ollie also made many friends, like Jon’s two new students — Adar and Shanni, and also the Labu and Lado brothers, among others… Since life here was much more relaxed than the outside world, her personality turned out to be even livelier than in reality under the influence of these friends.
Of course, this was their life outside of the manor. When they all returned to Pat Manor, whether it was Mana, the Head Maid, Ollie, the Shepherd Frandu, Gardener Gran, and so on, they would manage the manor top to bottom just as they did in reality, respectfully and properly.
Waiting for Lyon and Angel’s next return.
Perhaps for them, life inside and outside the manor represented two different attitudes towards life. One was adapting to a new life, while the other was a steadfast commitment to their original spirit and the days of the past.
No matter what, at least in Lyon’s view, everything was changing for the better.
…
It was the second week after Sanders had left.
Angel met with Sanders in Originheart City, where they would meet regularly every few days to share their respective situations.
At the top of the Sky Tower, a Hawk Falcon circled the sky twice before landing on Sanders’ shoulder.
While playfully touching the Hawk Falcon, Sanders asked Angel, “Are you still fiddling with the Witchcraft Slot today?”
Angel nodded; he was spending most of his time on the construction of the Gate Model, meditating when his magic power was depleted, and continuing the construction after meditation.
Sanders raised an eyebrow; Angel had been fiddling with it for almost half a month, and each time they met in the Wilderness of Dreams, the answer was the same. Sanders had not seen any results from the fiddling, which made him quite curious about what sort of Trick Model Angel was actually constructing.
However, Sanders did not ask, as Angel had vaguely indicated before that even if asked, he would not answer.
After all, the choice of Witchcraft Slot is a Wizard’s personal privacy, and Sanders was not planning to inquire. However, a Witchcraft Slot is not something that can be kept secret forever; Sanders decided to use training as an excuse to have a fight with Angel later, and by then, he would know what Angel had crafted in his Witchcraft Slot.
“What about the Mentor, did you see Lord Xi today?” Angel asked.
‘Xi’ Astrid, an extremely special wandering Witch. Rumors had it that she once came from the Blissful Pure Land and became hunched and aged due to some aggressive experiments during her Apprentice days, which led her to leave the Blissful Pure Land and become a wandering Wizard.
However, after leaving the Blissful Pure Land, Astrid’s power soared rapidly; within just thirty years, she joined the ranks of Official Wizards. Now, she has even reached the peak of Level One Wizards.
And Astrid was precisely the old friend Sanders was looking for on his trip to the seventh continent.
According to Sanders, he had known her when Astrid was still an Apprentice, though he did not specify how they met.
“Astrid left her retreat today, but the answer she gave me…” Sanders shook his head, “was negative. She doesn’t have a scroll with the luck attribute.”
What do you think?
