CH.588 Duel Terminal Packs

CH.588 Duel Terminal Packs

Yeah, you read the title. I’m opening Duel Terminal packs today.

I think I’ll do like 5 packs per set. That way I should get through every Duel Terminal set in a reasonable amount of time.

Naturally we are starting off with .

Spoiler

Yeah, it is a reprint set. That means that nothing is new. … is what I expected I’d say, but I Worm Hope is actually new. It isn’t that good, but it is new. No clue why it was never in a main set, but apparently it wasn’t.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Naturally nothing new. But this pack has some power. Both Neos and Buster Blader, that is some nice stuff.

But a quick question. Why is Royal Knight of the Ice Barrier a super rare? It is probably the worst level 5 monster ever made. So why is it a super rare?

… Whatever. Next pack.

Spoiler

Again, I’m surprised. Worm Falco is new. It does support the Flip monster playstyle that Worms are known for, but it isn’t that great.

Also, I want to note on Inferno Fire Blast. Alice has actually developed her own magic version of it. Originally she used the Dark Flare spell, which is just a Dark and Fire magic combination spell that makes dark red flames that are almost black. But Alice improved that spell into a spell called Inferno Darkfire. It is an absolutely diabolical spell that inflicts massive damage, but it also makes it so the opponent doesn’t actually feel any pain. So while they do take tons of HP damage, they might not even notice it. Sure they will see the black flames, but they might not realize just how much damage those flames do, because they don’t feel like flames.

Anyway. Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note here, next.

Spoiler

Yeah. Nothing new. And the cards aren’t that special, so I’ll hand this set off to Laura. She’ll fully complete it for me.

Now, to .

Spoiler

Yeah. It is a reprint set, so nothing is new. And none of these cards are even that good.

… actually, Big Evolution Pill might be worth looking into. Maybe I can feed them to monsters and force them to evolve? Or maybe they could forcefully evolve dragons with some modification? They might also work for Lizard-folk and Lizard-kin. And I do have the Lizard-folk race, so I can use myself as a test subject.

Yeah. I’ll look into that.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

Genex Furnace is worth talking about for a second. It isn’t new, but we do have a few Genex Furnace in the Workshop, as they can hold the eternal flames of the Fire Spirits, and they can adjust the temperature quickly and whenever we want. So they are great furnaces for forging.

Next pack.

Spoiler

And nothing here. This set is also headed for Laura.

Next set change.

Next up, what comes after 2, well naturally it is .

Spoiler

Oh? Two nice fusions. Yes I have them already, but having both Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem and Elemental HERO Flame Wingman in the same pack is nice.

Also, I tested Get Your Game On! Yes, I can use it. And it doubles the original attack, not the current attack, of Elemental Hero and Neo-Spacian monsters on the field. And no, it doesn’t stack.

Spoiler

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

And nothing worth note. Another set headed for the Laura treatment.

Also, set change.

So to we go.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

Nothing worth note, next.

Spoiler

And nothing worth note. So another pack headed for Laura, and I’m moving to the next Duel Terminal set.

And now I can make a joke. What comes after Duel Terminal 4? Well, it isn’t Duel Terminal 5. It is actually .

Spoiler

Okay. Hold up. I didn’t have Gem-Merchant, Laval Burner or Gem-Knight Sapphire. So this set might actually have some new cards.

Gem-Merchant is a decent boost, but it doesn’t last. Sapphire is a decent defensive wall and Burner special summons itself. None are great, but they are decent.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Vylon Vanguard can make Pack tokens, so its good.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Oh hi Spear Cretin. Been a while. Reminds me of my first day here.

… I wonder if I should make custom versions of the monsters I used on my first day here? Maybe I should. Make some sort of Divine-Beast versions of them? I should be able to do that. Just as a thanks to the monsters that protected me when I really couldn’t protect myself.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Prominence, Molten Swordsman is new, but he sucks. Also, I think I’ve figured out why I’m getting new cards. The new stuff I’m getting is all cards I could get from . But I have only opened 10 packs of that set, so I don’t have everything from it.

And Duel Terminal 5a has reprints of some of those cards, so I’m getting them before I managed to pull them from Hidden Arsenal 5.

So I won’t let Laura fully complete this set until I have Hidden Arsenal 5 fully completed.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here. Time for a set change.

To Duel . I’m expecting some new cards, since 5a had new stuff.

Spoiler

Gishki Marker is basic GY recovery. Not bad, but not amazing.

First Step Towards Infestation makes Pack tokens, but it a bit too convoluted.

And Steelswarm Moth is a double Compulse when you tribute summon him. I’d rather just use two copies of Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Steelswarm Mantis is a Monster Reborn for Steelswarm monsters when you tribute summon it. So not that good.

Blessings for Gusto is pretty good. It shuffles two cards from the GY into the deck and resurrects a third.

And Evigishki Mind Augus is just mass GY shuffling. Nice.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here. Next.

Spoiler

Nothing new here. Next.

Spoiler

And nothing new here. Time for Duel Terminal 6.

Or to be more specific, . is actually a promo set with 2 cards.

Now considering that Duel Terminal 5, both a and b, had new cards, I’m expecting some new cards from 6 a and b as well.

Spoiler

Laval Volcano Handmaiden would probably be good for massages. I’m guessing. Fire attribute magic is good for that stuff, as it can heal muscle fatigue better than any other attribute.

Steelswarm Sentinel shuts off the effects of level 5 or higher special summoned monsters. So I’ll never use it, because no one is special summoned and no one, except me, special summons.

And Pyroxene Fusion is just a sucky trap version of Gem-Knight Fusion.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Steelswarm Genome can be a double tribute for Steelswarm monsters. … they really should have allowed it to special summon itself to an empty field as well. Would have been better.

And Forbidden Arts of the Gishki is a Ritual spell. That can tribute monsters ‘anywhere’ on the field. So it can tribute your opponent’s monsters. Pretty nice.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Vylon Tetra is just a Vylon Tuner. Nothing special about it.

Infestation Ripples is a Steelswarm Monster Reborn. But only for level 4 and lower monsters.

And Evigishki Tetrogre is fine, but not that useful in this world.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Vylon Element is great, and it is a part of the Vylon loop that you can use to summon any number of Vylon Tuner monsters from your deck. So great to have, and it can make me Vylon Tuner monsters.

And Vylon Hept is also great. Just special summon a Vylon monster that is an equip card.

Now, one more set to go.

That is .

Spoiler

Vylon Pentachloro is a random Union monster. I guess it fits the Vylon playstyle, but it is too slow to actually matter. If you could equip it from hand it would actually be good.

Laval Blaster is super mid, but I guess a mill 5 isn’t bad.

Gem-Knight Iolite is a freaking Gemini monster for some reason.

Same with Gem-Knight Amber.

Gishki Vision is great for a Gishki deck. And useful enough for me.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Laval Lakeside Lady is cute. That is all.

Vylon Segment protects the equipped monster from targeting monster effects, and targeting traps. Not bad, but not great either.

And Daigusto Phoenix can make a Wind monster attack twice. Nice.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Vylon Tesseract is another Union. Probably a bit better than Pentachloro, but still too slow.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Aquamirror Illusion is interesting. Not sure how good it is, but it is interesting.

And Lavalval Ignis just gains temporary attack. At least make it permanent.

Last pack of the day.

Spoiler

Vylon Stigma just moves around equip cards. Not that good.

And that was all of the Duel Terminal packs. That I have. I think there might have been Duel Terminal 7, but I could be thinking of Hidden Arsenal 7. I really don’t remember.

I guess we will see when I get access to it/them.
