Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Wiped Your Drool for You

Gu Wei chuckled and then pointed at the tissues next to him, “I’ve already wiped off your drool for you.”

Her face flushed red and she quickly covered her face.

She knew she drooled in her sleep, but she didn’t expect him to wipe it for her.

Watching her adorable reaction, Gu Wei laughed, “It’s just a bit of drooling in sleep, it’s not a big deal.”

She moved one palm away and peeked at him with one eye, “Did I snore while sleeping?”

“Not at all, and even if you did, it wouldn’t wake me,” he said with an indulgent smile.

Seeing that he genuinely didn’t mind, she finally got up.

Sleeping in the car wasn’t as comfortable as a bed; there wasn’t enough space to stretch out, and with Gu Wei’s height, he must have curled up all night.

Indeed, when they got out of the car, she noticed he was walking with a slight limp.

Gu Wei then started to tickle her, “You are laughing at me.”

As she laughed and tried to dodge, he continued to chase her, and when he caught up, he gave her a thorough tickling, leaving her breathless with laughter.

Small restaurant.

Weina opened the door and saw Bi Yuanhang standing outside.

Weina’s face immediately soured, “What are you doing here?”

Bi Yuanhang held his starving stomach, “I’m hungry and thought I’d buy something to eat.”

“It’s too early for food. There’s a place selling roasted buns up ahead; go buy from there.”

Weina then turned away.

Bi Yuanhang quickly followed her inside, saying from behind her, “I’m sorry, I misunderstood you last night. If it weren’t for you, I might have ended up sleeping on the streets.”

“Misunderstanding? Who said I had bad intentions?”

“I didn’t know it had rained last night, nor that…the clinic’s door couldn’t be opened.” Bi Yuanhang sneezed.

He had been outside, freezing for two hours.

Combined with his distress, he looked rather pitiful.

Seeing his condition, Weina, not being a heartless or petty person, asked, “So what do you want?”

“May I sit inside for a bit?”

“Sitting for a while is fine, but the house in my yard is used as a temporary inn; you stayed last night, remember to pay your bill, accommodation and service charge altogether is 150 yuan.”

“No problem.” Bi Yuanhang instantly took out his phone, scanned a QR code, and then found a chair to sit inside the restaurant.

Weina busied herself with her tasks, wiping tables, cleaning, and contacting the vegetable vendor to deliver produce.

Soon after, the cook and waitstaff arrived for work, and the cook started preparing lamb soup.

At first, Bi Yuanhang couldn’t stand the strong smell of the lamb, but now he seemed less repelled.

He sat at the restaurant’s doorway, rubbing his hands and keeping an eye on the clinic, waiting to see when Meixi would return.

Weina’s cook made her a bowl of noodles, and seeing Bi Yuanhang still there, asked, “Should I cook a bowl for him too?”

Weina glanced at Bi Yuanhang and felt that he was troubled.

She said to the cook, “Hold off on cooking, I’m going to ask him what’s going on.”

Then, she took her bowl of noodles to Bi Yuanhang, eating while she asked, “Are you waiting here for Dr. Su?”

Her question had a double meaning.

Bi Yuanhang looked toward the clinic entrance and somehow, tears started streaming down his face, “Actually, we met each other over a decade ago.”

“Childhood sweethearts?” Weina raised her head.

Unexpectedly, there was a story, “So, you intentionally followed her here, but it turns out she already has a lover, right?”

Bi Yuanhang sniffled, “Yes, I thought she had broken up with that person, so I followed her.”

Weina scoffed, “Then you really are foolish. Once a woman falls for someone, she won’t just give up unless he’s worthless or a scumbag, and Gu Wei is not a scumbag. Once a woman falls for him, she won’t ever fall for another man in her lifetime, even if she does end up with someone else, it will just be settling.”

Bi Yuanhang gave a bitter smile, “Is he… really that remarkable? Even you praise him.”

“Any normal woman would know he’s a catch.”

“You like him too?”

“Me? I know my place, okay?”

Hearing this, Bi Yuanhang looked even more dejected.

Seeing him like that, Weina couldn’t help but get a small bowl, then she forked half of her noodles into it and pushed the small bowl towards him, “Do you want to eat?”

“Yes!” Bi Yuanhang was so hungry he could eat half a lamb.

“That will be 5 yuan.”

“No problem.” He transferred 5 yuan to Weina, then began devouring the noodles.

Soon, he had polished off all the noodles.

Seeing this, Weina pushed her remaining noodles towards him, “Still hungry? I’ll give it to you for 5 yuan.”

“Disliking it?”

“I eat, and you’ll have none left.”

“I still have more in the kitchen,” Weina said.

Bi Yuanhang then transferred another 5 yuan and took Weina’s noodles, just about to eat when the sound of a car approached.

He immediately put the noodles down and walked outside.

Weina followed him out.

It was Gu Wei and Su Meixi returning.

Su Meixi got out of the car, draped in Gu Wei’s clothes and overcoat, clearly showing they had spent the night together.

It seemed like they were a done deal.

After Gu Wei’s car drove away, Su Meixi went to open the back gate.

She turned around, saw Bi Yuanhang’s slightly disheveled and haggard appearance, and couldn’t help asking, “Senior, where were you last night? Didn’t you sleep at the clinic?”

“I didn’t have the keys, couldn’t get back in after I left.”

“Sarah didn’t give you the keys?”

He shook his head.

Su Meixi, feeling sorry, said, “I’m truly sorry, I thought you had the keys. But if you couldn’t get in, why didn’t you call me?”

“Last night…”

He was embarrassed to say that he had gotten drunk.

“I spent the night outside, it’s fine.”

“Well, when Sarah comes by, ask her to make you a copy of the keys,” Su Meixi said.

Bi Yuanhang nodded, then glanced at her coat.

The coat was wide and long, hanging down to her heels, but clearly, there were no pants underneath.
