Demon Lord and His Unknown Child With the Empress

Vol. 1 - Chapter 92 - This Is My Daughter

A few minutes after Yue Qingyou left, she returned home with a bag of groceries. Since she had used buying ingredients as an excuse to leave, she couldn’t return empty-handed without raising Luo Ruying’s suspicions. Instead, she had casually grabbed some ingredients from the house next door, owned by Ye Tianshen, who ran a barbecue stand and always had a stockpile of prepared food.

Ning Yechen and Luo Ruying, who were playing with Luo Hongye in the courtyard, were slightly surprised to see her back so quickly.

"That was fast."

"Yes, Madam, I ordered these ingredients in advance, so I just went to pick them up," Yue Qingyou offered a perfectly reasonable explanation with ease.

"I see." Luo Ruying didn’t suspect anything.

Ning Yechen knew she hadn’t been out to buy ingredients. Curious, he sent her a voice transmission. "Is it taken care of?"@@novelbin@@

"No, Demon Lord," Yue Qingyou replied. "It seems the individual is someone from Madam’s family."

Hearing this, Ning Yechen became intrigued. Someone from the Luo Divine Clan? Have they come looking for her?

While Ning Yechen and Yue Qingyou exchanged mental messages, Luo Ruying silently observed them. So, it isn’t just my imagination… They’re definitely exchanging subtle glances!

What could they be keeping from me…?

For reasons she couldn’t explain, Luo Ruying felt a sudden heaviness in her chest, as if a stone were weighing on her heart.

She quickly shook her head, trying to dismiss her thoughts. Why am I overthinking this, like some overly sensitive woman? That’s not like me at all.

At this moment, there was a soft knock on the courtyard door. Cai Se stepped forward to open it, revealing a young woman holding a broken sword fragment.

"May I ask whom you’re looking for?" Cai Se asked politely.

Luo Ruxin frowned slightly upon seeing that the person who answered the door wasn’t Luo Ruying. Could I have gotten the wrong house…?

But just as she was about to apologize for disturbing him and turn away, her gaze met someone in the courtyard.

"Ruxin?!" Luo Ruying exclaimed in shock.

"Sister?!" Luo Ruxin’s face lit up with joy.

In an instant, she dashed into the courtyard, threw herself into Luo Ruying’s arms, and rubbed her cheek affectionately against her elder sister’s chest like a playful child.

Ning Yechen, watching from the side, felt a tinge of envy. That spot belongs to me and our daughter…!

What surprised him even more was the revelation that his wife had a younger sister. So, she’s my sister-in-law…?!

After the affectionate reunion, Luo Ruxin raised her head and studied her beloved sister, whom she hadn’t seen in nearly two centuries. When she noticed Luo Ruying’s once-lustrous silver hair had turned completely black, her brows furrowed deeply, and anger flickered across her face. "Sister, your hair… What happened?!"

The defining trait of the Luo Divine Clan’s bloodline was the transformation of black hair into shimmering silver strands. The purer the bloodline, the more vibrant the silver.

Luo Ruying, who had fully awakened the ancient Luo Divine Clan’s bloodline, had once possessed hair so radiant that it was the envy of the entire family. But now, her dazzling silver locks had turned into an ordinary black, a sign that her bloodline could no longer sustain her divine form.

Luo Ruying gently touched her dark hair and said calmly, "A lot has happened. I can no longer maintain my Luo Divine form."

For Luo Ruying, losing her divine form and cultivation didn’t matter anymore. She had already found solace in her current peaceful life.

"I can’t believe this…" Luo Ruxin muttered, her voice trembling with anger. "What happened after you left the family? How could this happen? Why are you hiding here in the Mortal Realm?!"

Her sister, once the shining star of the Heavenly Realm and a revered Heavenly Empress of the Luo Divine Clan, was now living in such a modest place.

Luo Ruxin grabbed Luo Ruying’s wrist to probe her condition, only to recoil in shock. Her face turned deathly pale. Her immortal bone is gone… Her heart… is gone…

"Sister, your body…!"

"Yes," Luo Ruying said softly. "As you can see, I’m now just a cultivator at the Human Immortal realm. Nothing more."

She withdrew her arm and added with a faint smile, "You’ve surpassed me now. Congratulations."

Although Luo Ruying spoke lightly, Luo Ruxin couldn’t contain her fury. Her face turned icy cold as she demanded, "Sister, tell me who did this to you? I’ll kill them!"

Luo Ruying had always been her idol, her inspiration to cultivate, and her most beloved sister. To see her in such a state was unbearable.

"Alright, calm down," Luo Ruying said with a smile and pulled her sister into a comforting embrace.

She whispered softly in her ear, "You don’t need to worry about me. I’m fine now, aren’t I? As for what happened, don’t ask anymore.

"Just pretend you don’t know anything. Knowing the truth might not be good for you or the Luo Divine Clan."

"But, Sister—!" Luo Ruxin began, only to be silenced by Luo Ruying’s delicate finger pressing against her lips.

Even though Luo Ruying’s cultivation had diminished, her authority as an elder sister remained unshaken.

"I understand, Sister…" Luo Ruxin nodded reluctantly. She realized Luo Ruying was likely trying to protect the family, which was why she had chosen this path.

As Luo Ruxin prepared to ask more questions, her gaze fell on a small, doll-like child clutching Luo Ruying’s leg and hiding behind her. What an adorable little girl…! She even looks a bit like Sister did when she was a child. Her timid expression is so cute!

"Sister, whose child is this?" Luo Ruxin asked, pointing at the little girl.

Luo Ruying’s cheeks flushed slightly as she scooped Luo Hongye into her arms and introduced shyly, "This… is my daughter."
