Chapter 331 The Tyrant, Victoria.
Sabel was the only one who was standing tall while the others were still undergoing the side effects of the poison they took. He slowly removed his lab coat and used his ability, the ability that he rarely used that made him a superhuman.
He didn't need to inject anything into his body, but his whole body grew larger and his nails grew sharper. It looked like he had turned into a werewolf, but only the growth and became bigger than Duncan.
He charged forward and for his size, he moved so swiftly like a fly to dodge all the bones that came out of the ground. When he couldn't dodge it, he smashed through it even though he bled and broke his bones. Luckily, after he took the poison and the virus, he gained the ability to regenerate and made his bones, skin, and muscles stronger.
Agnigm wasn't impressed by Sabel's transformation and she dashed toward him while he was busy smashing the bones. She cut off his right arm the moment she dashed past him and turned around to cut off both his legs. It happened in just a second, but Sabel didn't scream as his pain tolerance had disappeared during his failed experiment a long time ago.
When she was about to finish Sabel off by stabbing his heart, a bone came out of the ground right underneath her. She dodged it at the last second and then turned around to see who could control the bones. She saw Victoria standing in the distance with her folded fan pointed at her.
The bones started to pierce through the ground as Agnigm broke them all with the bone in her hand or her wings. It was enough to buy time for the others to recover from the side effects of the poison and for Sabel to regenerate his missing limbs.
Sophia felt something crawling underneath her skin, but she also felt her strength got amplified. She charged at Agnigm with Duncan and Felix as they cut and destroyed the bones quite easily. Their weapons were strong enough to withstand the sturdy bone, and those weapons were the gift from Gods.@@novelbin@@
The Twelve Big Bosses joined them, but since they weren't as strong as those four, they played it carefully. They were so underwhelming in comparison to Sabel, Felix, Duncan, and Sophia, but one took Victoria's attention.
A man with messy white long hair, holding a sword that looked ordinary dodged the bones like he predicted. Not only that, his sword was a bit glowing with a white-yellowish color like the sun. His sword was a sharp end to cut the bone clean and it didn't come from the sword, but it came from his hand that glowed with the same color.
"You guys have ten minutes!" Victoria shouted.
Sophia and the others knew what it meant and it was because Victoria couldn't control a powerful ability for too long. Victoria didn't want to risk it because she might have passed out if she pushed it too much. She wanted to play safe and used her skill again once she recovered from the fatigue.
"Even with the serum she can't hold it more than ten minutes? And she barely used it as well," Sabel talked to himself as he broke through the bones to get close to Agnigm.
Sophia was the first one to reach Agnigm, but she was showered by small sharp bones, as small as fish bones that couldn't be seen with the naked eye. She could barely feel them flying toward them, but then she felt the ground moving underneath her.
A bone came out, protecting her from the small sharp bones and it was Victoria's doing. She then moved around it and swung her sword at Agnigm with everything she had. Her sword shattered the bone that Agnigm used as her weapon, but she was pierced by the wings right into her chest from behind.
She didn't feel it coming and then she was pierced into the ground, but with Victoria's help, Agnigm was pushed away from her. The bone threw Sophia away like a boulder on a catapult and landed right next to Victoria.
"That crazy bastard can even do something like that?" Victoria looked at her ripped chest of Sophia which was slowly being healed by a black gooey substance. "So that thing we drank can give us regeneration power," she sighed and was relieved that Sophia could survive.
"It's fucking hurt and itchy!" Sophia grunted and tried to scratch the wound on her chest.
"Don't scratch it, you moron!" Victoria smacked Sophia's face so hard with the folded fan. "It's trying to heal your wound."
Sophia stood up and rubbed her face because it was stinging from that smack. She realized she couldn't move yet because her lungs were pierced and it was hard to breathe. Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire
"You can control the bones. Doesn't that mean we can leave?" Sophia asked.
"Yes, but we need to try our best here first and gain information about Agnigm. We will leave before I lose the power," Victoria answered and kept helping the others by removing the obstacles and protecting them when needed.
"You're planning to ask his help?" Sophia asked.
"Honestly, I don't want to because it's annoying that we are depending on him. I hate being dependent on anyone, especially him. I know you all are the same, so we will clear this rift on our own even if it takes a lot of tries," Victoria answered and watched as everyone surrounded Agnigm.
"Damn straight!" Sophia stood up and swung her sword around. "I'm going to crush the party!" she ran into the battle and dodged the bones that came out of the ground since she could sense them coming.
Everyone fought relentlessly and suffered quite heavily, leaving only Five Sinners, Twelve Big Bosses, and a dozen Gifted. When it had passed seven minutes, Victoria pushed everyone away from the fight and threw them toward the rift. She pushed down the bones that blocked the rift and left before Agnigm could stop them.
Victoria staggered and collapsed, but Sophia grabbed her before she fell to the ground.
"Now we are even," Sophia said as she helped Victoria walk.
"Sure, whatever," Victoria scoffed as she looked at everyone's exhausted expressions. "Follow me to the main building. I have a few words to all of you," she said.
Everyone went to the main building and the guards were shocked when they saw Jordan's corpse. They were saddened that he died because he was the only one who could stop all the criminals if they tried to start a riot. But Victoria assured them that there wouldn't be any criminals left if they failed to clear the rift which only made them more depressed and anxious.
"Well then. Listen up and open your ears," Victoria said as she sat in the warden's chair. "I have observed the battle and saw the probability of clearing the rift."
"Yeah? How little?" Sabel asked as he lazily put his head on the table and looked at Victoria.
"Zero," Victoria answered casually.
Everyone raised their eyebrows and was confused as to why she said it so casually.
"You guys didn't even work together and expected to defeat that demon who's way above our level?" Victoria raised her eyebrows and looked disappointed. "If it wasn't for me, all of you would be dead by now..." she added but she suddenly looked pale and felt like something was crawling up her throat.
It wasn't just her, Sophia and the others felt the same way as her, and all of them started to puke, but Victoria managed to get out before she did. A black gooey substance came out of their mouths and fell to the ground, making the Twelve Big Bosses look at them weirdly.
"Ah, that's the drawback of drinking the serum. You will be fine once you let them all out," Sabel said. "I wouldn't recommend you guys to take another one for the rest of the day or your body will turn into that thing," he warned.
Victoria came back like nothing had happened to her, and she kept using that calm and collected expression of hers. She cleared her throat and looked at the mess the others had made, making her feel disgusted.
"We can win, but I can't guarantee that everyone could leave the rift. Some might die, but I'm confident that we can kill that demon," Victoria explained as she sat on the chair. "The key is in my hand. So, you have to follow my lead."
"What key? I don't see anything worth bragging about since we don't have anything much that could change the tide," Duncan asked as he wiped his mouth.
"You're looking at it," Victoria smiled with her eyes closed. "I'm the key to our victory, but I can't do anything with my ability alone. So I'm going to borrow his power," she pointed out and looked at the man with messy white hair.
The man was confused at first, but he understood that his ability was indeed powerful. He then smirked and realized it would be a perfect opportunity for him to make a name for himself. He wondered if one day he could stand higher than those Five Sinners.
"Can you come here for a second and show them your power?" Victoria asked as she pointed to the floor next to her.
The man stood beside Victoria and then showed his power to everyone in the room. The ability called [Aura Blade] could turn any object or even his own body into the sharpest blade.
"Thanks for showing it to us..." Victoria stood up and copied the skill.
"No prob—" Before the man could finish his sentence, his head fell to the ground.
Sophia and the others weren't surprised by what she did, but the rest were shocked and petrified by it. For Sophia and the others, they already knew it would happen since Victoria had done something like that oftentimes in the past.
Victoria's ability didn't only mean she could copy other people's abilities, she could take the ability from them. The only way to do that was to kill them after she copied the skill and made it permanently hers. That was the reason why she got her title which made her the most feared on the whole island.
"Victoria the Tyrant is still there, huh?" Sabel chuckled in disbelief.
What do you think?
