I've Become the King of Villains in the Game

Chapter 284: 205: You're Not Qualified to Bargain!

Chapter 284: Chapter 205: You’re Not Qualified to Bargain!

Amber City, Inner City District.

In front of a coffee shop by the roadside, tables and chairs were set up along with sun umbrellas so customers could rest, dine, and enjoy the street scene.

Akebin and Drake were sitting casually, and Drake had even ordered a fried fish sandwich, sipping coffee while eating.

“The Executioner Squad doesn’t seem to be coming for you, Akebin,”

Drake mumbled.

Akebin glanced at him but said nothing, just silently pondering.

After a while, he finally spoke:

“It doesn’t matter now, as long as they don’t interfere with our mission… Let’s go.”

“With three little tails following us, we’re just going to grab someone like that?”

Drake crumpled up the paper wrapper and nonchalantly threw it into the trash can behind him.

Akebin shook his head.

“They’re already infected; they won’t be able to catch up.”

Having said that, he stood up and left towards the end of the street.

Drake curled his lips, indifferently inserting his hands into his pockets, and followed behind.

On the rooftop of a nearby shop.@@novelbin@@

The Executioner Laisley saw the two of them leaving and immediately took out a notepad, planning to pass on the message, but she suddenly started coughing uncontrollably.

“Cough… cough cough!”

Laisley looked down to see a patch of blood in the palm of her hand.

She revealed a horrified look.

As a Sequence Seven Transcendent, she had been mysteriously stricken without any awareness.

At that moment, the notepad began to vibrate, and text appeared on it.

Laisley focused on it and couldn’t help but feel a sinking feeling.

“The other two sides are just like me, infected with a Transcendent disease…”

But she could feel the disease slowly receding, merely leaving her temporarily weak.

“Akebin… This is his warning!”

Laisley’s eyes hardened.

“Do you think you can scare off the Executioner Squad like that? You underestimate us!”

She coughed twice more, disregarding the blood flowing from the corner of her mouth, sent out the information on Akebin’s duo on the notepad, and then, despite the weakness and discomfort, leapt across the rooftops, pursuing them.

Soon, she stopped.

Because she saw that Akebin and Drake were standing by the side of the street, not moving forward.

Following their line of sight, Laisley looked further ahead to the middle of the street, dozens of meters away from them. A man wearing a black suit, a black top hat, and holding a silver staff, was smiling at them squarely.

“Who is that man…?”

Laisley was puzzled.

“Pleased to meet you both; first time meeting you, I’m the Leader of the Circus, Jack Spett…”

Chen Lun took off his top hat and bowed slightly in greeting.

“We were just about to look for you, but you came to us instead…”

Drake chuckled lightly, took out a box of cigarettes, and lit one for himself.

He was unconcerned, shaking his head mockingly.

“Is this an apology? I think that will be unnecessary, taking the Mutual Aid Society’s things naturally comes at a price.”

“Cut the crap, Drake.”

Akebin said indifferently, as he took a small glass jar from the lining of his clothes, which contained a writhing eyeball, the “C-level Mysterious Object – Eye of Shadow”!

Hum!

The eyeball emitted a beam of light.

In an instant, Chen Lun was forcibly pulled into the Spirit World by the light.

He raised an eyebrow to see that all the pedestrians around had vanished, and the empty, blurry street was left with only Akebin’s duo in front of him.

“Will you speak about taking over the Circus yourself, or should we interrogate you first to get the truth out.”

Drake said with a smile as he smoked.

Chen Lun’s eyes swirled with mist, seeing through the strength levels of the two men.

‘Both are Sequence Six Transcendents… Among them, Akebin’s Attribute has already reached the limit of this sequence, and he isn’t far from Sequence Five. Members of the Murder Club really are strong.’

He thought to himself.

Akebin and Drake frowned.

They felt very uncomfortable as Chen Lun’s eyes swept over them, as if they had been seen through.

“Gentlemen, I have a proposal; perhaps you would like to listen?”

Chen Lun revealed a polite smile.

“Not interested.”

Akebin said coldly.

“Looks like you don’t intend to talk, then?”

Chen Lun raised his hand, gesturing for them to wait a moment.

“Mr. Akebin Kowal, I am very sincere… Previously, the Circus planned a kidnapping, but it encountered a betrayal by our partner Beckman and was eventually rounded up by the Shelter.”

He shrugged.

“I did indeed take over the remaining forces… but without changing the name, specifically waiting for your arrival, because I wanted to use this to join the Mutual Aid Society.”

Unfortunately, the expressions of the two didn’t change; they were still cold.

Drake exhaled a cloud of smoke with a chuckle.

“Oh, I see… You mean to replace the original subordinate organization leaders and act as the Mutual Aid Society’s leader spy in this city?”

He turned his head to look at Akebin, who gave a nod.

“According to the rules, you can indeed do that…”

Akebin casually waved his hand, and a swarm of flies flew from nowhere, forming a contract text in the air.

“Sign this contract, and let’s settle this matter… That will also save us some trouble.”

Chen Lun casually glanced at it.

The regulations were countless times more severe than the ones he signed with the peripheral members of the Circus, tantamount to a deed of sale.

“Gentlemen, that’s not what I meant… What I mean is, I want to join the ‘Murder Club’ purely as an individual.”

Chen Lun’s face maintained its polite smile.

Drake was taken aback at first, then burst into hearty laughter, dropping the smoking pipe from his mouth.

Akebin felt as if he was being made a fool of, his expression growing even more sullen and aloof.

With a wave of his hand, the contract text mid-air was directly canceled, and the swarming flies scattered out of sight.

This action signified that he would not be offering any more chances.

“Just you…? Someone who has just advanced to Sequence Seven dares to talk about joining the ‘Murder Club’ and becoming one of us?”

Drake laughed so hard that tears came out.

He himself had spent who knows how much sweat and blood to squeeze into the Murder Club and find a shelter.

This guy here, lacking in both strength and insight, actually had the audacity to boast such lofty claims!

“According to the rules of the ‘Murder Club,’ I will offer up a bottle of Supernatural Wine…”

Chen Lun produced the “Crane Top Green,” which, although a notch below “Mielnir’s Blood Wine,” was still a premium commodity.

He had many reasons for wanting to join the Murder Club.

The primary reasons were threefold.

First, the Murder Club was relatively free on the inside, without the restrictions of other churches and powers. It was more of a killers’ guild than an elite Transcendent organization and one of the few high-end platform institutions within the Tresor Empire.

Although the relationships between members were not that close, corresponding benefits and protection did exist.

Besides, Chen Lun could create an alternate identity and use the platform of the Murder Club to undertake hunting missions, which was a channel to trigger many important side stories and could accelerate his growth.

Of course, the most important reason was his ability to brew Supernatural Wine, which could be exchanged for assistance from the powerful members of the club… Provided that the Supernatural Wine was of high enough quality, there was even a certain probability of getting the Conspiracy Angel Conrad to take action personally.

Watching the wine bottle in Chen Lun’s hand, the reaction of both Akebin and Drake was consistent, and that was utter indifference.

“It seems you haven’t grasped the situation…”

Drake said.

“Although I don’t know where you gleaned the rules of the Murder Club from, you really don’t have the right to negotiate conditions!”

The smile on Chen Lun’s face gradually faded.

“No right… huh, since you do not wish to follow the rules, then I will have to show you what qualifies as the right to do so.”

“Just you?”

Drake scoffed, and in the next instant, he became a blur, charging towards Chen Lun.

Chen Lun looked on indifferently and pulled out two bells, one green and one red, giving them a gentle shake.

Dingling…

Bang!!

A sturdy figure appeared beside Chen Lun and punched Drake’s arm. Drake’s quick reaction spared his face from being the recipient of the blow!

Drake flew backward, landing and retreating several steps.

Looking up and seeing the familiar brownish-red clay pot, his face couldn’t help but show a slight change.

“Pot Monster?!”

Mr. Pot patted Chen Lun’s arm with a backhand slap and let out two hearty laughs.

“Silver Pot, we’ve come to help you!”

Mr. Bottle smiled silently beside them.

“Thank you both.”

Chen Lun glanced at them and then turned his gaze back to Akebin and Drake.

“Mr. Pot, the one on the right is yours.”

“Don’t worry! I’ve been holding back on this guy for a long time! I’ll definitely flatten him this time!”

Mr. Pot clenched his fists and charged directly at Drake.

Drake had not expected the opponent to summon this spirit world creature. He had had several encounters with it recently, each time being suppressed.

“Damn it! You really think I can’t beat you?!”

Drake sneered.

The next second, his body split into dozens, if not hundreds, of bats that scattered, avoiding Mr. Pot’s heavy punch, and then reassembled behind Mr. Pot.

Drake’s palms transformed into black claws and lunged for the back of Mr. Pot’s heart.

Bang!!

Mr. Pot struck back with his hand, and after the collision, the two parted ways.

‘That guy is a Sequence Six of the Flesh Faction, but he shouldn’t be a problem for Mr. Pot…’

Chen Lun thought to himself, withdrawing his gaze and looking back at Akebin.

This one was a even more formidable opponent.

Akebin had been still from beginning to end, silently watching everything unfold.

“You’re no match for me…”

He spoke.

The next moment, Chen Lun suddenly felt an itch in his throat, leading him to cough twice.

[You have been attacked by the transcendent disease “Organ Failure”!]

[“Hell Resistance” is in effect, reducing 50% of the damage!]

‘Toxin Resistance isn’t fully effective against transcendent diseases… That makes sense, as they are not exactly the same.’

Chen Lun thought to himself.

He fought the urge to cough and noticed his Life Points dropping at a rate of five points per second.

‘Without the damage reduction of “Hell Resistance,” theoretically, it would take less than four minutes to deplete my health bar…’

Chen Lun looked at Akebin not far away and chuckled softly.

‘But that’s only in theory.’

The next second.

A faint green light flickered between his chest and abdomen, and his Life Points stopped falling and instead rose again, quickly returning to full.

Akebin’s eyebrows raised slightly in surprise.

Chen Lun did not waste further words and immediately flicked several playing cards at him.

Whizz, whizz, whizz!!
