Chapter 290 Esteemed Guests
Lucas got out of the carriage and the same happened again, the people around stopped after looking at him yet some were not surprised but still stared a lot.
He went inside the tournament building, the location was, in general, a fighting area, where bystanders watch from the side while the fighters brawl in the big ring.
When Lucas went inside, he saw boards directing people in different directions of their choice, Lucas found it easy to navigate toward his master with the boards.
There were many people in the corridors and whoever looked at Lucas, they kept staring.
"Who is that guy?"
"I think it's a royal, speak slowly, you might offend him."
"But what is a royal even doing here? Have they come to find new talents?"
"Don't know about that, let's see. But he is also wearing a disciple badge."
People kept talking around him and Lucas listened intently, now he understood completely.
'I am looking like a royal? Oh my god, just what the fuck am I wearing?'
Lucas walked briskly toward the place where his master was, he needed answers.
He got this attire just this morning, if he had known before, Lucas wouldn't have even worn this suit.
He quickly reached in front of the gate where his masters were present. He could see the word 'Esteemed guests' written on it.
Lucas found it hard to believe that no guard was present to protect such important people.
"Hm?" He went for the knob and tried to open it yet it was stuck. Lucas thought about applying force yet refrained from doing that.
"Esteemed guest,"
Lucas looked back and saw an old man wearing the clothes of a butler. The old man had his back bowed toward Lucas which made him feel like at least someone out of everyone did a different type of bowing.
"You can only enter this room with the help of a special ID," The butler said without making any eye contact.
"It that so… I don't have something like that." Lucas felt disappointed that he could not enter, he was going to say that his master was inside this room but before he could do so, the butler continued. Your next journey awaits at My Virtual Library Empire
"My deepest apology for talking out of my way but, your ID is present on your cloak, Esteemed Guest." The butler hadn't looked at him all this time yet he still knew that Lucas owned something special.
The butler finally straightened his back and showed Lucas the small iron object that was at the right of the gate.
Lucas didn't say anything and tried getting his badge in front of the metallic object and finally, a click sound came out of the door. The object was kept in such a comfortable way as if everyone's ID was near their shoulders.
"Thank you"
"Please feel free to have my assistance anytime, Esteemed Guest. Have a great day." The butler went into the bowing phase again and Lucas just entered the gate in a hurry. He could not handle this bowing again.
The gate opened fully and Lucas was in the gaze of everyone, there were countless people inside that room, all wearing clothes similar to his yet Lucas still had it in his mind that he was wearing something better than them.
He looked around yet everyone had their eyes on him, it seemed he was a bit late.
"You are finally here, Lucas!"
Lucas heard the voice of his master and a smile bloomed on his face. He saw his master to the left, sitting at a fine luxurious table with many other old people.
He quickly approached his master and in front of anyone, paid him his respect.
"Disciple greets master" Lucas bowed a little with eyes closed.
He heard a few amused-filled voices in the process.
"Hm, good good. I see these clothes suit you." Sam patted Lucas's shoulder from the side and looked back at the people he sat with.
"This is the crazy disciple I told you all about. Brat, introduce yourself."
Lucas looked at his master for a second and then at the others, there were three old people sitting on the table with all kinds of food available, not what was hoped the old people should eat.
"It is a pleasure meeting you all, my name is Lucas Garde, Beginner Alchemist and the alchemy apprentice of Master Sam." Lucas bowed a little while getting many 'hmms' in the process. It seemed he nailed the introduction.
"You were right, Sam. He doesn't fear much." The old man to the right said while massaging his long beard, his face showed both calmness and sadness, something that Lucas did not find much in this place.
"Wait till you see him perform some alchemy." A crazy grin formed on Sam's face and Lucas tried his best to not grin too.
"He is different." The other old man said it too.
Lucas could not tell what 'different' they were seeing in him but after nodding at them all. He looked around the place to observe some stuff casually.
He sniffed in the air and found that many people who were middle-aged or the same as his master were sitting around while there was a foul stench of fear and anxiousness filling the whole room.
It was the young like Lucas who were like that, they were In groups at the sides standing and drinking together.
When Lucas was done, he looked back at the table and saw that the four of them were still looking at him.
Yet he had already greeted them all so he moved his gaze to this master.
"Master, something weird was happening when I was traveling here."
"Hm? What happened?" Suddenly, Sam's face became a little serious.
"When I got out of my apartment, everyone kept staring at me and then they even started bowing toward me. It was so awkward. I think it's because of these clothes." Lucas gazed at his clothes and seriously thought that it was because of these clothes.
"Hahahahahaha brat, is that so?" Suddenly, his master burst out laughing and the others on the table also smiled.
People all around the room looked toward Sam and only shook their heads, it seemed they were used to his attitude.
"That is because you are wearing the clothes of a noble, no, even greater. You are my disciple, brat, and you act like it too."
What do you think?
