Chapter 293 15 years later (2)- Leaving the realm behind

It was a tough day for everyone, the day Sam, Lucas's alchemy master died in his hands.

In Lucas's eyes, the day before his death was very normal, he had met with his master after a long time. He had grown older than before.

While Lucas had done his best to increase his lifespan with his research, the end was just not moving forward. It crept up from the back and before Lucas could even do anything, his master went away in his sleep.

These past 15 years had been a lot, in total, Lucas apprenticed under 5 master craftsmen.

This was not a norm in this realm yet Lucas's thirst for knowledge and his connections all around the town were too strong.

His 5 masters had different crafts, Sam was the alchemy master, and under his teachings, Lucas reached the master level in 3 years.

With nothing more to learn from his master, Lucas went for smithing, with an affinity for everything related to crafting, he was successful in mastering the art of molding metal too.

It was all possible due to his class, it helped him have an affinity for everything which was an anomaly case, the case that no one else other than the crafter of the hero's party had.

When the system told him that this world was on the path of technological advancement, Lucas was sure that nothing dangerous was going to happen. He could peacefully learn things at his own pace and leave for the Plains of Amaeron soon enough.

Yet that was proven wrong in the very first year when a dear friend of his stabbed him in the back, he was a mole of the church, and after killing his good friend. Lucas's relationship with the church worsened.

The tails and attacks that were in the shadows started attacking him in broad daylight. The only advantage Lucas had was his masters, they protected him and gave him time to have the fame of his own.

And when William mastered smithing too, it was time to go for the next trade which was relatively easier.

When it came to mastering, it didn't mean that Lucas was at the pinnacle of the trades, it just meant that he had mastered everything that his realm had to offer. New things still came up one after another and Lucas was happy enough to learn all of it.

The third was 'Textile Crafting', Lucas learned everything about weaving, spinning, dyeing, sewing, and tailoring to the master level. It was relatively easy as his proficiency in other trades helped him a lot.

Even the crafting essence had increased by many points.

The next trade, 'Woodworking' was also easy, Lucas was already good at his control and patience so after a few more years, he was done with it too.

The last was the one that he was the least excited about, it was enchanting, Lucas had to learn a lot of theory rather than practical knowledge like the other ones.

It took him the longest, even longer than alchemy to master it. He had also learned many more things such as tending to livestock, farming to some extent, and general construction that was done by duds that had no class.

Along this whole journey of learning, Lucas had eradicated the church from the inside and that had led to the start of a revolution inside it.

Priests that actually had the divine classes started attaching themselves to the church making it a place worth worshiping. The so-called 'god' statues started doing miracles and the faith increased day by day.

Lucas with the help of his underworld allies also took over the hidden world that was not known by the mere. With so many years of experience, Lucas had taken the lives of many, be it other races or humans, he did not care.

His bad habit of discriminating against no-humans also went away. Lucas with the help of a goblin made the best juice parlor in the town with the help of his knowledge from Earth.

His fame had reached heights that could be called legendary, he was called by many names, some were good while some were the worst.

But while he had improved a lot in these 15 years, the mark had also improved in new ways to make his life a misery.

Yet Lucas persisted, he had a lot of help, and many who were close to him helped with the suppression.

At that time, Lucas came across a rare metal in the deep of the forest and after researching about it and using all his experience as a crafter, he made a cuff.

The cuff was not like the normal one, it had properties to keep his mark at bay, but it was too good to be true.

Using the cuff for longer periods might have suppressed the mark but when it was removed, it came back even stronger.

Such was the fact Lucas came to know after it was too late, wearing it for a few years constantly, and when he finally removed it out of curiosity, the mark made him mad.

It was the day Lucas got another name, 'The Dragon Slayer'. One of the most dangerous fire dragons living in the depths of the forest was killed by Lucas because of the changes that took place because of the mark.

It was the day people made him a hero and a demon at the same time.

Many things happened in the time he was present in this realm, he gained and lost a lot.

A few days after Sam's death, Lucas did his best to complete all the small quests left, he knew he was at the end.

It was difficult to leave the people that he had grown attached to, Mary was one of the people that was dear to him now. She was a friend and a small sister to him and her feelings were the same too.

It was time to leave and Lucas felt a bit reluctant yet he had to keep a reality check.

His real world was in another place, his real people were in another place...
