Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 317 Dungeon (1)

For the next few hours, Lucas made a plan for every day. He first wrote down the abilities of everyone within his territory.

Haley was the most vital person until Phil could start bringing in edible crops.

Her cooking skill gave a boost to stats for a few minutes, which had been wasted until now.

With a better kitchen and equipment, Lucas was sure Haley would become an even better cook and improve her proficiency level.@@novelbin@@

Ella's skill as a housewife was going to shine even brighter now, as she could share her knowledge of cooking techniques with Haley.

It was about time the territory moved past cooking on rock slabs and fire pits.

After the kitchen, which was the top priority, the next focus was the living quarters. While the accommodations were going to be built, the things that would go in them were still nowhere to be found.

Making the living accommodations was also a top priority.

'The lobby of the shelter could be used for dinners, meetings, and other gatherings. For that, we need a long table. There's so much to do…' There was excitement in Lucas's eyes. Whenever he thought about all the things he had to build from scratch, his eyes brimmed with joy.

Yet there was some sadness too. Aside from the development that would improve their living conditions, there were long-term tasks that had to be done consistently.

Lucas got up and gathered the many slates he had written on.

As he stood, he saw everyone engaged in their tasks. Sean was still studying the runes, trying to carve them onto a rock of his own, while Sarah supplied one fireball after another to the oven.

It almost looked like she was trying to break the oven, which made Lucas chuckle. With heat resistance level 2, it would take a significant amount of fire to damage the oven.

In the center, Haley was preparing a batch of food. The quantity in the large wooden bowl beside her was enormous.

The food was being prepared not only for the territory but also for trade. Yet Lucas frowned. Haley was being grilled by the fire from the wooden pots and fire pit, sweat dripping continuously from her face.

The sight made Lucas even more determined to build a kitchen. The trade was bringing in many gold coins per piece of meat, so improving the infrastructure was only fair.

Barney was off to the side, fixing the durability of Lucas's scribing knife. It seemed Lucas had used it beyond its capacity.

John and Mike were on one of the outlined grounds, talking to each other. A small mound of dirt had formed over the outline, making it look like a mold.

"Uncle John, I'm heading to the dungeon again. If something comes up, give me a call."

"Be safe, Lucas. We'll try to start work as soon as possible."

"No worries, you're working diligently. The protocols will remain the same. I'll mark the territories where resources are located, so please check the map every 15 minutes."

"Got it."

"Got it, boss!" Mike shouted, still touching the ground. Lucas could almost feel his annoyance at being interrupted.

Lucas only smiled and looked around before asking John another question. "Where's Jerry?"

"He's at the farm with Ella and Phil."

"Okay, I'll tell you when I'm back before dawn."

"Good luck."

Lucas left the shelter and followed the small road toward the farm. Before he even reached it, he could hear Ella's playful voice and the sounds of her tamed beasts.

When he finally saw the farm, Lucas smiled warmly. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the cozy atmosphere.

The sun shone brighter on the clearing than at the shelter. Small bugs made sounds similar to crickets.

A middle-aged woman tossed pieces of meat into the air, and a giant bear-like creature leaped up, snatching them as soon as they left her hand.

A boy tended to the crops while a large, burly man slept in the shade of a tree.

Lucas made his way to the crops, receiving a nod and a smile from Ella. As he looked at the crops, he couldn't help but admire Phil's skill.

Just a day ago, the crops had been in the seedling stage, but today, the stems had thickened, and the leaves had grown larger.

Every plant in that cultivated land looked healthy.

"O-Oh, Lucas! Uh… Welcome?" Phil suddenly noticed Lucas near the crops he was tending.

"Try to stay vigilant of your surroundings, Phil," Lucas said with a smile. "I've been standing here for a minute, and you didn't notice. What if a monster came? Are you feeling safe because of him?"

Phil followed Lucas's gaze to Jerry, who was sleeping under the shade of a big tree.

Phil didn't say anything, but he shook his head, glancing at Jerry.

"Good work with the crops. I'm looking forward to seeing them grow," Lucas said, moving toward Jerry.

Lucas stared at him for a few seconds, but even then, the supposed 'protector' didn't react.

'If his senses are this dull, I need to work faster.'

"Jerry, wake up."

"UGH." Jerry grunted and rolled over, his snoring, which had been a whisper before, now growing louder.

"Jerry, food's ready."

"Food?" Jerry's eyes finally opened, still sleepy, as if his response was purely instinctual.

"No food. Come with me. We're going to finish some dungeon levels."

"Uhh… Yes, boss!" Jerry got up, following Lucas toward the dungeon without fully understanding what was happening.

They both made their way into the denser part of the forest. The grasses were wild, and the tree roots jutted out above the ground.

Lucas glanced at Jerry, who was wearing the basic armor they had gotten from the dungeon. A silver shield was in his hand. The longer Lucas looked at the shield, the more annoyed he became.

"You… have been slacking."

"What?" Jerry was surprised by the sudden remark.

"You sleep during your tasks, and judging by the state of your equipment, it doesn't seem like you've fought in a long time," Lucas said, still looking ahead.

"Uhh… it might look that way, but it's not, Lucas! Barney fixes my equipment so well that it's as good as new," Jerry replied, laughing awkwardly.

Lucas gave him a sideways glance, and that's when Jerry realized who he was trying to lie to.
