Chapter 169: 169, A relationship from the womb (3)_1 Chapter 169: 169, A relationship from the womb (3)_1 In the living room, Song Xirou looks around her home, where she hasn’t set foot in three years, and a mysterious smile plays on her lips.

“Rourou, why did you suddenly come back this time? How’s your treatment abroad? What about your chill disease?” Zhang Tong asked as soon as she sat down.

Smoothing her skirt, Song Xirou replied, “I missed home, so I came back. The treatment abroad is almost finished. There’s one more round left.”

“Rourou, please don’t tell me that you came back because you saw the news about Quan Jingwu,” Song Yi asked tentatively.

He knew his daughter’s feelings well. Quan Jingwu was the ideal son-in-law for all the aristocratic families in Beijing, but he wasn’t easily accessible.

The news about Quan Jingwu’s love affair was all over the media lately. It was plausible Rourou had returned home because of this.

“Of course not,” Song Xirou cut him off, saying indifferently, “I haven’t been home for a long time. I just missed you and mom. I didn’t think much about anything else.”

Referring to this matter, Zhang Tong was somewhat resentful deep down. After all, she felt that her daughter had shown kindness to the Quan Family. Quan Jingwu should have taken the initiative to visit Rourou, but he never appeared.

She felt it was unfair to her Rourou, who had contracted chill disease to save the old lady of the Quan Family.

“Rourou, stop thinking about Quan Jingwu. I think Quan Mingxuan and Quan Yimo are also good choices. We don’t have to put all our eggs in one basket. Besides, with the status of our Song Family, you can choose from many aristocratic sons.”

“Okay, Mom, I’m tired. I’m going to rest upstairs.”

With that, Song Xirou stood up and went straight upstairs.

Watching her retreating figure, Zhang Tong exchanged a glance with Song Yi. “Ayi, do you think Rourou still has feelings for Quan Jingwu…”
Song Yi waved his hand to interrupt her, saying in a deep voice, “Rourou is an adult now, she knows what she’s doing.”

In the room, the servant brought in the luggage and then closed the door and left.

Song Xirou was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window when a knock sounded.

“Rourou, it’s Dad.”

She walked over and opened the door to let Song Yi in.

“Dad.”

Song Yi walked in and sat down on the sofa.

“Rourou, you’ve always been a smart girl. Dad won’t ask about your other affairs. What are your plans for this visit?”

Song Xirou’s eyes seemed to deepen, and she sat next to him, “Dad, I want to join the company. I want the position of the general manager.”

Without beating around the bush, she made her intentions clear.

Song Yi looked at her in silence for a moment before responding, “Alright, but I want to see your results in three months.”

“I promise.” Without hesitation, Song Xirou agreed.

Looking at his daughter before him, Song Yi felt her strange yet proud. He had only one daughter in his life, and the Song Family would be dependent on her in the future. It was time for her to start taking charge of some of the family’s businesses.

“Rourou, how about throwing you a banquet the day after tomorrow? I can introduce you to my business partners then. After all, for families like ours, networking is indispensable.”

Song Xirou gave a nod, “You make the call.”

A satisfied smile appeared on Song Yi’s face, “Then tomorrow you go to the company with Dad, and familiarize yourself with the situation.”

“Tomorrow seems impossible, I have something to do,” Song Xirou said lightly.

“You just got back, what is so urgent?”

“I need to visit the Quan Family.” A strange light flashed in Song Xirou’s eyes. Some matters had to be dealt with in person.

Hearing her wanting to visit the Quan Family, Song Yi frowned, somewhat disapproving, “Why do you want to go to the Quan Family? Rourou, your father has to tell you honestly, Quan Jingwu truly has someone he likes. You should stop being so stubborn.”

“Dad, I know.” Without anger or panic, Song Xirou calmly responded, “I simply want to visit Lady Quan and Master Quan. After all, having good relations with the Quan Family benefits our Song Family, doesn’t it?”

Song Yi’s eyes held a slight suspicion, but he did not say anything more.

Jian Qing couldn’t bear to stay in the hospital and left in the afternoon. Quan Jingwu took her back to Shijin Haoting, carefully keeping her in sight. Even the documents were delivered directly by Shen Hao.

Lying on his legs, Jian Qing was bored out of her mind.

Then, as if she’d just remembered something, she got up and ran upstairs.

“Xiaojing, I’m going to get something for you. Wait here for me.”

In less than a moment, she ran back down, hurriedly holding a notebook.

“Here, this is for you.”

Quan Jingwu looked at the object thrust into his hand. It was a sketchbook with about forty drawings.

“I promised to draw you a picture before, but there’s more than one in there.” Jian Qing sat down next to him and flipped the book open.

The first page was a scene of him holding an umbrella for her in the rain. As she flipped further, there were sketches of him dealing with paperwork, and of him cooking. Each drawing was so vivid.

Quan Jingwu raised his fingertip and traced the lines, his eyes sparkling even brighter than before, his mouth curving into an intoxicating smile.

“Do you like it?” Jian Qing tilted her head up to look at him. Even though she could see his smile, she couldn’t help but ask.

Closing the sketchbook and placing it carefully to the side, Quan Jingwu pulled her into his arms, his chin resting on her neck. “My darling, will you draw me a picture every day?”

Those sketches made his heart flutter.

Jian Qing glanced sideways at him and said with a smirk, “My time is very expensive. These pictures don’t come cheap. I wonder how you plan to pay for them?”

“What if I give myself to you?” Quan Jingwu looked at her profile, unable to resist stealing a kiss, which earned him a glare.

“Dont’t keep taking advantage of me.”

“Then you can kiss me back.” Saying that, he pressed his face straight up to her red lips.

“…”

What could she say?

She felt that he had spoiled her into having bad habits.

“My darling, who is Meng’er?” He whispered into her ear while watching her lazily leaning against him.

Jian Qing’s eyes popped open, and she sat straight up.

“Why are you asking about that?”

Her reaction didn’t escape his gaze, and his purple eyes grew darker. “Is he important to you?”

Jian Qing looked at him and suddenly burst out laughing. She reached out and pinched his cheek, “Are you jealous?”

Quan Jingwu grabbed her hand, “You haven’t answered my question.”

Jian Qing smirked deviously, “Yes, not only is he very important, but also very close to me. When we were kids, we used to eat together, go to school together, and even sleep together.”

Closer than siblings who’ve shared the same womb, right?

As the last word fell, Quan Jingwu’s handsome face darkened, his eyes filled with a fierce, turbulent emotion. An assumption flashed across his mind, childhood sweethearts.

Noticing Sir’s growing anger, Jian Qing stopped teasing him and nestled into his arms, “Xiaojing, are you even jealous of my little brother?”
