Chapter 39 Peak of Tier I part 4

"This is it," he whispered, gesturing to an opening in the swampy earth, partially concealed by vines and foliage. The air around the entrance was thick with an ancient, dark aura.

"Ready?" Luna asked, her grip on her dagger tight. The faint pulse of dark magic radiating from the Amulet of Dark around her neck gave her a confident edge.

Leon nodded. "Let's see what this dungeon has to offer."

They descended into the dungeon, torches lighting their way as they moved cautiously through the narrow passage. The deeper they went, the louder the sounds grew—a faint, otherworldly hum, like a heartbeat, resonating through the walls. Soon, they entered a vast chamber, its ceiling lost in shadow, where creatures waited: swamp wraiths, lizard-like beasts with piercing red eyes, and twisted undead guardians, all lurking in the shadows.

The first wave surged toward them, and Leon reacted swiftly, drawing on the Wraith Lord Cloak's power to send a pulse of darkness that staggered the creatures. With his other hand, he summoned a spell he had learned from the grimoire—a dark vortex that pulled in several smaller wraiths, tearing them apart in its dark energy.

Luna darted forward, her movements silent and quick, using the Swamp Wraith Cloak to slip through the shadows, undetected by the undead until she struck. Her dagger found its mark with deadly precision, taking down creature after creature as she dodged and weaved through the fray. The Amulet of Dark amplified her strikes, each blow carrying an edge of shadow magic that sapped the creatures' strength.

The Bogling Familiar, loyal and agile, kept pace, darting between Leon and Luna to distract enemies, tripping them up or drawing their attention at critical moments. Its small frame and quick reflexes proved invaluable, and it squealed with delight each time they gained the upper hand.

As they cleared the last of the immediate threats, Leon and Luna caught their breath, exchanging a determined glance. The main chamber loomed before them, its door guarded by two towering wraiths wielding ancient spears, their hollow eyes glowing with a malicious light.

Leon took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the Wraith Lord Cloak settle over him like a second skin. Its dark energy pulsed in sync with his own magic, fueling his resolve. He glanced at Luna, who gave a quick nod, her Swamp Wraith Cloak blending her into the shadows.

The two towering wraith guardians didn't move, their skeletal forms rigid as stone. Only the eerie glow in their hollow eyes betrayed their awareness.

Leon raised his hand, conjuring a swirling dark vortex from the Grimoire of Forbidden Rites. The magic spiraled into a concentrated mass of shadow energy, humming with power as he flung it toward the first guardian. The impact staggered the wraith, and an inky smoke began to seep from its frame, but it remained standing.

"Let's see how tough they really are," Leon muttered.

As if in response, the other wraith lifted its spear, pointing it directly at them. A shockwave of dark energy blasted from its weapon, sending Leon and Luna stumbling back. Luna regained her footing quickly, disappearing into the shadows before reappearing behind the nearest wraith. With swift precision, she struck with her dagger, aiming for the creature's spine. The blow landed, and a burst of shadow energy erupted from her Amulet of Dark, weakening the wraith further.

But the wraith was resilient. It whirled, swinging its spear toward her in a wide arc. Luna barely dodged, the blade grazing her arm, but she didn't lose momentum. Instead, she used her injured arm to throw a handful of dust from her pouch, momentarily blinding the creature.

"Leon, now!" she called out.

Leon seized the opening, channeling the power of his cloak. Shadows coalesced around him, forming spectral tendrils that shot toward the wraith, wrapping around it like chains. The tendrils tightened, weakening the wraith's form until it finally crumbled, its essence dissolving into black smoke.

The second wraith, seeing its partner fall, released an unearthly wail and lunged forward with even greater ferocity. Leon and Luna steadied themselves, prepared for the final showdown. But just as it charged, the Bogling familiar leapt in its path, emitting a shrill, distracting chirp as it darted around the wraith's legs, tripping it up.

Taking advantage, Leon lifted his staff, channeling a spell from the grimoire. Dark lightning crackled from his fingers, surging forward and striking the wraith with a fierce burst of power. The wraith's armor melted away under the impact, leaving it vulnerable.@@novelbin@@

Luna lunged forward, delivering a final blow with her dagger that pierced its core. The wraith let out a low, haunting hiss as it disintegrated into the air, its dark energy dissipating.

As the echoes of the wraith's wail faded, the door to the main chamber groaned open, revealing a dimly lit room filled with ancient relics. In the center, on a stone pedestal, lay a gleaming artifact—a Cursed Ring of Shadows.

Leon stepped forward cautiously, his eyes fixed on the prize. "This ring... It's an Epic-class artifact. What a haul!"

Luna looked at it as well, her gaze curious and captivated by the item's dark allure. But to her surprise, Leon extended his hand, offering it to her.

"Huh?" Luna's eyes widened as she took a step back, surprised. "You're giving it to me?"

Leon shook his head, a small smirk tugging at his lips. "This suits you the most," he said simply, his tone firm.

Luna studied his expression, still hesitant. "Fine, but don't think I'll forget this," she said with a smirk of her own. "Let's go deeper into the dungeon. I have a feeling there's more loot here than we know."

As she slid the ring onto her finger, a powerful, cold energy pulsed through her, making her shiver slightly. She didn't realize that Leon had gotten something even better thanks to his Charity system.

A system notification appeared in her vision as the ring settled onto her hand:
