Chapter 365: Shiftry
Chapter 365: Shiftry
Because they had completed their evolution, the Pokémon began to slowly leave. They had come from all over the secret realm, some even from the farthest edges.
Reaching this place had been a trek through mountains and rivers—some weaker Pokémon couldn't even make it this far.
The Shiftry that Julian had taken an interest in was also leaving, following the rest of its kind toward the east.
Julian didn’t act immediately, he waited until most of the Pokémon had dispersed and the large group had scattered.
Only then did he prepare to make his move. He was cautious—if the Pokémon were too united, capturing Shiftry might provoke the others, leading them to interfere.
Half an hour later, Dragonite landed in front of nearly a thousand Shiftry. Under their watchful eyes, Julian jumped off Dragonite’s back and pointed at one of them.
“This Shiftry is mine, the rest of you can leave.”
His tone was arrogant, his expression domineering—not polite in the slightest. He didn’t even acknowledge their numbers, as if they were nothing.
After all, Dragonite alone was enough for all of them.
The Shiftry murmured among themselves, uneasy because of Dragonite’s presence.
Metagross shot Dragonite a glare—this fat dragon, it was stealing the spotlight, making the Shiftry ignore Metagross.
Dragonite scratched its head, confused by the way the Shiftry were staring at it.
The Shiftry all turned toward their leader—the strongest among them, a peak Advanced-level Shiftry.
The leader knew it couldn’t simply give in to Julian. Otherwise, he would lose respect, but at the same time, he couldn’t possibly win in a fight.
He needed a way to refuse without looking weak.
Just as the leader took a step forward, a voice came—
“Fire Punch”
Dragonite vanished in a blur, landing a single punch that knocked the leader Shiftry flat on the ground.
The other Shiftry: ⊙0⊙
Julian stepped forward. “Anyone else wants to object?”
Celebi: “Step forward if you disagree.”
Celebi took the chance to act tough alongside Julian.
Instantly, all of the Shiftry took a step back—all except for one, who remained frozen in place, as if stunned.
This was the Cyan-tier Shiftry Julian had set his eyes on.
“Oh? Not bad.”
Julian looked at it with mild approval.
The Shiftry was actually on the verge of tears. It wasn’t resisting—it was just too nervous to move.
But in Julian’s eyes, its expression looked completely defiant, like it was challenging him.
“Alright, I won’t bully you.”
“Honedge”
Julian sent out Honedge.
Some Pokémon had strong personalities—even when they knew their opponent was stronger, they would still fight.
Three seconds later, Honedge finished the battle.
It turned back to Julian with an unimpressed look. "Are you sure you want this kind of weakling as our teammate?"
Julian shrugged. "You're just too strong, and no, it won't be our teammate."
He had already decided that his second Attribute would be Dragon-type, so even if he caught a new Pokémon, it would most likely be a Dragon-type.
As for Honedge, it was a complete accident.
Honedge weren’t native to Drakoria, and if you could buy one with money, of course, Julian wouldn't pass up the opportunity.
He clipped Shiftry’s Poké Ball to his belt. Once they were out of the secret realm, he would trade it for resources—there was no way he’d keep it.
After all, if it stayed with him for too long, Julian might get attached, and then he wouldn’t want to sell it anymore.
Just like this Celebi.
Every bit of fat on its body had been raised by Julian.
With its round, plump figure, those who knew it could still recognize it as Celebi. But those who didn’t? They’d probably think it was some "Cele-pig."
Celebi: "I could’ve beaten it too."
Julian: "You're amazing."
After all, Shiftry was only level 20. Meanwhile, Celebi was level 76, it had somehow gone from level 75 to 76 just from eating.
Celebi squinted: "Why does that sounds weird?"
Julian blinked innocently: "What? You're imagining things."
Celebi: "Then why did you smirk when you said that?"
Julian smirked again: "Because I respect you, of course."
As the two bickered, their group had already moved far away.
The remaining Shiftry stared at each other, unsure of what to do.
Their leader was knocked out, and one of their own had been taken away. Should they go home now, or wait for their leader to wake up and leave together?
---
Celebi: "You were totally mocking me just now!"
On Dragonite’s back, "Cele-pig" was pulling Julian’s hair, puffing out its chubby cheeks in frustration.
Even though it was rounder than normal, it was still kind of cute.
Julian sighed: "I already told you, that was my way of showing respect."
Celebi: "I don’t believe you, even Metagross laughed just now!"
Julian turned to Metagross: "Did you laugh?"
Metagross shook its head: "No."
"See? You don’t trust me, but you should at least trust Dragonite, right?"
"Fatty, tell the truth, did I say anything wrong just now?"
Dragonite: "It's too windy, I can't hear you."
'Kudos to myself for my wit'
Dragonite gave itself a thumbs-up for its quick thinking.
"Alright, alright. Believe me or not, are you hungry? Here, have some chips."
Celebi: "Hmm… now that you mention it, I do feel a little hungry."
Crunch Crunch
The sound of Celebi happily munching on chips filled the air, Dragonite glanced back, then patted its own belly. It was hungry too.
Julian: "It’s not mealtime yet, if you're hungry, just bear with it, and look at your belly—do you think you need more food?"
There was a reason he called it "Fatty."
With a stomach like that, even Snorlax would be impressed.
"There’s a group of Tropius ahead."
A dozen Tropius had just entered Julian’s field of vision, but instead of stopping, Dragonite kept flying—it was the Tropius that had paused in place.
Julian: "I suddenly feel like eating bananas."
Metagross: "Understood."
A few minutes later, Metagross returned, carrying a whole bunch of bananas.
The fruit hanging under a Tropius’ chin wasn’t actually a real banana—it just looked like one. But its texture was soft and sweet.
It was highly nutritious and had a high protein content.
In fact, if someone ate this three times a day, they wouldn’t gain weight—they’d actually lose it.
Because of this, it was one of the most beloved foods among fitness trainers.
The price of these bananas depended on the level of the Tropius that produced them. Those from a regular Tropius weren’t very valuable, but once a Tropius reached the Advanced level, its bananas became highly sought after.
Since there were plenty of bananas, Julian gave some to Dragonite as well.
It could stand to lose some weight, Celebi too.
Metagross, however, shook its head. It didn’t like eating these.
Celebi: "This red dot is about the same size as the Leaf Stone."
Celebi took a bite, but its attention quickly returned to the Dowsing Machine, ever since it failed to take away the Leaf Stone, it had been regretting it non-stop.
Julian glanced at the screen. "It’s somewhere below, in this forest."
About ten minutes ago, they had already left the grasslands and were now flying over a huge forest, from this height, the treetops stretched out endlessly, with no visible end in sight.
