RISE OF THE HOLY DEMONIC GOD

Ch 88: Umbraveth Archive. [1]

As the whole trio and Rey entered the space, which resembled a white room with nine side walls, Veylen pointed upward. When they looked up, their eyes nearly popped out of their sockets like jelly balls.

Above them was a grand treasure that no one could possibly think of backing away from. The treasure was so vast that whenever their eyes scanned from to right, up and down, it was all filled and meticulously arranged, as if cared for by someone over a long time.

"Where are we a-and what are those things above?" Aiden asked, his hand shaking, and his facial expression peculiar, as if meeting an idol or crush for the first time and falling head over heels.

The treasure Veylen showed them was none other than books. Rey didn't understand much, as from his perspective, it was just a very, very big library. But why was this inside his body, and why didn't his three spirits know about it? So he asked,

"Hey, it's okay if you didn't want to help me, but what is this place, and are we really in my body now?"

"Yes, you are technically in your body and not at the same time, because this place is also in your body and not, as it resides within the law inside you.

This is the great heaven for those in search of knowledge, arts, techniques, skills, more, accumulated over time by our clan's ancestor, us and the host for the Law. Things lost in time and space were also brought here for safekeeping. This place is so vast that even if millions of clusters of populations resided here, it wouldn't be an issue.

But here is not easy, as even beings of omnipotence and reality haven't been able to find its location for who knows how many years."

"Wow, so you're saying that this place is a true heaven for knowledge seekers and that's why Aiden is acting like that."

"Yes, it seems so, as I don't think others on your side are reacting the same way to think of any other source of problem."

"Then how often do you come inside of it? If it's inside our body, we can come inside of it anytime, right?"

"No, we can't. The will is the only one to grant access, and even I, who have lived for many millennia, have only come here twice, with the second time being just now with you. But now it's pointless... oh, he is arriving now, quite late for being a caretaker," Veylen said as he sensed someone approaching from a great distance away, even though the trio was unable to sense until the presence entered their sensory range.

They all became alert as their eyes darted toward the direction above.

Rey also tried to see who was coming, but no one was visible to his eyes. He looked at the others to see if they were still looking.

But what he found was that they were now looking downward, so his eyes followed their lead. What he saw was quite shocking: a dwarf-sized man, appearing to be fifty to sixty years old with human-like features, but with light deep blue skin. His eyes were quite imposing, enough to kill someone with a glance.

"Hoh, it looks like some visitors arrived without permission from this old man in the Archive," the old man said, as what he didn't expect to happen did happen.

"Huh, where did this old dwarf-sized man come from, Veylen?" Rey asked while squatting toward the man and pointing at him with a grin.

"Fool, come back here, maybe even I won't be able to save you," Veylen said as he pulled back Rey before he could say any further words to the old man.

"Ho~hoh~~, it looks like you've brought quite a special guest here, Veylen. Perhaps even the weakest to seek help from the grand archive of the will. Boy, you're quite lucky, but try to control your tongue, or I may have to shorten it for your own good." He said, and Rey, who heard it, just nodded as his whole mind was telling him not to overlook this man's words.

"Okay, good. Then tell me, Veylen, how are you able to come here for the second time? I don't recall you having a second chance to set foot here in the years you were alive. But sure, something happened that allowed you to come here in such a measly soul form. Got killed by someone, huh?" He said, and Veylen, who was cold and aloof just now, appeared quite normal in front of the man, even his tone was not as cold as before.

"No sir, it's nothing like that. My time to live was over, and I spent it seeking a new heir for the family, which I eventually found in him. As for this form, it's just a grace of the will to me." He said, pointing at Rey standing behind him.

"Okay, so a new member, huh. Well, which number now, 22 or 25? I don't remember, maybe the number will increase quickly, as what I see in kid is total trash, above trash, which can't even match a normal person. His soul is so weak that a normal attack could annihilate it. His body is such a waste. Just the three little friends of his are supporting him like three pillars; otherwise, he wouldn't even be worth standing here." He said, and Veylen just nodded but didn't say anything to support his words.

"Yes sir, you're correct, but destiny is set, and this kid may be the only key to appear and may be the only one to exist who has the thing that can help us get free from the curse." Veylen said as the man's expression changed a little but returned to normal after a few seconds.

"Oh come on, you still believe the words of that old fool of a woman. I think you should find another heir with a proper body and rest until someone comes to help you."

"No sir, maybe you won't understand this right now, but when you see it for yourself, you will also accept it completely," Veylen said with an unbreakable expression.

"Come on..." The old man began talking to himself as Rey, who was standing behind them, stepped forward and took the opportunity to ask Veylen.

"Hey, who is this guy you're talking to with such respect?" he asked, trying to be as quiet as possible, but no one in this area was mortal, so everyone heard what he was saying.

"Oh, I didn't introduce you properly. This great man in front of us is named Xelth'Ruun, the Abyssal Archivist, is an Eclipsed Spirit Sovereign God, and his power level is unknown. He is the caretaker of this entire archive called the Umbraveth Archive. The archive operates under the will of law, and everything lost in time throughout the world appears here. This is a sacred ground of lost treasures, and everyone who knows about it yearns to come here. However, only a few beings are able to come and take back something chosen for them by the archive itself. These individuals are now some high bigshots living carefree lives," Veylen introduced the old man named Xelth'Ruun.

"And Sir Ruun, this guy here is called Rey Shadowthrone, the newly appointed last descendant of family for now," he said, as Rey, who heard him, just nodded finding his intro quite shabby.

"Quite a simple being you are. And yes, I don't like formalities, so just call me Mr. Ruun like him," Ruun said as he started to float and ascend.

Veylen also began moving toward the upper area, and the trio followed behind him. However, the one who truly appeared to take items was still there on the ground.

"Oi, take me with you too..." he shouted as everyone looked at him with a sigh.
