Chapter 232
Thirty minutes before Cherry infiltrated Devonshire.
Devil and Ethan walked leisurely through the crowds evacuating due to the fire.
Neither man showed the slightest hint of panic.
“The road to Westmore is going to be rough. Do you have a safe route?”
“Did you know there are no monsters in the Reed River? We secured a boat to cross it. If we move under the bridge, we can avoid being seen. There's a large underground sewer beneath the central bridge of Reed River—it connects directly to Westmore’s sewers.”
Devil replied calmly as he descended into the underground of Devonshire Townhouse.
Ethan wondered if the underground passage built by the Sinclair chairman might also be connected to this place.
Had these bastards discovered the secret tunnel?@@novelbin@@
But judging from Devil’s demeanor, he seemed completely unaware of any such passage.
The basement of Devonshire Townhouse was unusual.
The staircase leading underground was long, and instead of a traditional corridor, the structure forced them to move from room to room to advance further.
Each room had a distinct theme.
Some were lavishly decorated, resembling women’s chambers, while others had a more masculine atmosphere.
A series of rooms meant for imprisoning people, designed for all manner of depraved activities.
Ethan’s fists clenched tightly.
He had become a cop to punish scum like this—including his own father.
And yet, what had he actually accomplished?
Hadn’t he failed to even expose his father’s crimes properly?
Disgusted with himself, Ethan followed Devil, though his guard never dropped.
He could never be sure when this bastard would try to stab him in the back.
When they finally reached the last door, Devil suddenly stopped and turned to face Ethan.
Ethan stopped as well.
Right now, he had no weapons.
What do you think?
